Hi!
I just wanted to pop on and say hi! I have been a guest for a while, but finally decided to join. 🙂You all seem like such a kind, friendly group of people!
I have been a fan for about 2 years, and have greatly enjoyed watching all the old YouTube videos. My favorite member is Mairead Carlin. I just can't take my eyes off her when she performs, as her energy and moves are amazing. She has such a stage presence. Her voice is also so sweet and airy.
My favorite album/tours are Postcards from Ireland and Ancient Land.
Thanks and blessings!

Welcome!!!  :) It’s great to have a new member.

I wholeheartedly agree with you about Mairéad Carlin. Her presence speaks to the soul. She was absolutely mesmerising when I saw her live, and the craziest part is that she seems so humble about it!

Have you ever seen them live? (No judgement if you haven’t, I hadn’t either when I came here, just curious)

So cool that Mairead Carlin is your favorite member and yet Postcard from Ireland is one of your favorite albums..so it must have been an experience witnessing Mairead doing Dawning of the Day and Wild Mountain Thyme alongside Muirgen. Seeing both Muirgen and Mairead doing a duet none other than Over the Rainbow is something within itself since Muirgen was Mairead's replacement back then.

Thank you so much! I have not seen them live, but maybe someday. Have either of you seen them live and, if so, how many times?

Oh yes, Dawning of the Day with Mairead was so beautiful. Although, I have to say, the way Chloe days, "Young man, don't bring me blame," brings me chills every single time! Speaking of stage presence, Chloe has it too!

Honestly, one of the main reasons the Postcards albums one of my favorites is because of the way they recorded music videos in Oreland to go with the songs. So pretty and well done, in humble opinion.

Yes, Over the Rainbow this tour is so gorgeous. Their voices blend so well, they sound like rippling water.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!!!

Welcome! I'm glad you decided to introduce yourself. I hope you will join in all the discussions on here. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to meet other like minded people.

I agree with you about Ancient Land. Every single song on there (and the Deluxe version) is so good. Not one weak link in the chain.

One thing I like about Mairead is her sense of humor. I once saw her doing 'the robot' during a Christmas show. No, I don't have it on video!!!

Do you have a fav song from Mairead?

Oh, thank you! Glad to hear I am not the only one who feels that way about Ancient Land!

Ooh! That is tough! She manages to put a unique, lovely flair to everything she sings!  I See Fire is amazing! Other than that, I love her rendition of Newgrange. I believe she did it in Ancient Land, but there is no official video of it. I saw it on a viewer upload on YouTube. She went on "full operatic mode" on that one, and it was so good!! 🙂 Do you have any favorites of hers?

Here it is. I think she also did it on the Emerald tour?

Who doesn't love "Opera Mairead"?  ;D

Yeah, so Newgrange (like you said) and Ave Maria are two of my fav songs. She also lets it fly in Auld Lang Syne (Magic of Christmas version). Some of my other favs are Ae Fond Kiss, and Dulaman (Homecoming version) b/c it sounds like she had so much fun.

I’ve only seen them live once on their Christmas tour last year. It was magical! Mairéad is so incredible in person. I have a somewhat more detailed account of my experience on the Toured section of the 2025 board.

I agree with you on Chloë’s singing during Dawning Of The Day. It’s one of my favourite moments in the entire album. (That and The Lakes Of Pontchartrain). I noticed when watching some of A New Journey that she sings directly to the listener.

Lakers Celtics: ooh! Those are all so good! I love when, in Dulaman, the choir members give her a little boost to the stage.

Stars_at_dawn: so great you could see them for that tour!

Thank you!

My first live show was in 2007.  I think I'm up to 90 CW shows, plus some of Lisa Kelly's shows, her Masterclasses, and some of Chloe Agnew's shows.  I've done around 35 Meet & Greets with various members.

Welcome to the forum!

I first saw Celtic Woman in 2014 and I saw them again this year. (A few weeks ago, in fact) And they were both incredible.

If you can see them, I HIGHLY encourage going.

I was highly blessed that they came every year to my small capital city in Florida when I lived there up north. I am blessed to have able to attend and experience a live concert with the originals. My first one was A New Journey Tour in 2007 where Meav and Hayley were alternating but I was so happy that Meav was at my show and even though for that first show I was seated so high the most furthest it the sound live performing was a chilling experience nonetheless. Ever since I have seen A New Journey Tour with Alex and Lynn 2008, Isle of Hope Tour, Song's From The Heart both with Alex and Lynn and 2010 with Lisa Lambe. They stopped coming for Believe but have returned for the 10th Anniversary which I got the Emerald Tour lineup which was cool even if Alex and Meav would been EPIC, I had a special treat a rare unique opportunity of hearing Lynn do The Voice. In 2017 I traveled to Jacksonville to see Voice's of Angel's Tour. Now what's really really funny is since moving to central Florida I thought I'd get way more opportunity but nowadays they don't come but it's really great for places like Ft Myer's FL because they never had shows down there in the past. <3

Wow! Your input was perfectly said "rippling water indeed!"

When Susan sang Dawning of The Day she pulled off Chloe's style really powerfully as well.

I must say I do prefer Megan in strength with the song, but who doesn't love Mairead in it.. dream dream.

Postcard's From Ireland Tour had some of the best choreography and energy especially with Chloe with them! Mo Ghile Mear which sometimes the best stellar performances are tour performances!

Seeing them live is an unbelievable experience, you know it when you get goosebumps!

One tour in 2010 after a rainy afternoon was the evening show and Lisa Kelly kindly said we had a lovely time at the Governor's Mall. That mall is the one place to go when it rains and I it was amazing if I had been there that a chance to run into them  ;D if they could walk in the mall without people knowing it's them! ;D
