Yesterday, at the Miss World talent stage, 23 finalists competed to show off their talents. Miss Ireland, Caoimhe Kenny, was one of them.
Kenny showed off her skills in aerial silk dancing, including, most notably, to one of Ireland’s most beloved songs: Theme From Harry’s Game by Clannad. Ye may also know it as covered by Órla Fallon back on Celtic Woman’s very first album.
Here’s (

Kenny also has a post showing off just herself performing, but that’s to a different song. Hopefully more clips from this talent final will be released.
Despite her undeniable talent and perhaps the greatest song choice in Miss World history, Kenny did not wind up placing. First place was awarded to England’s Grace Richardson, who sang a lovely rendition of Over The Rainbow (coincidentally enough, also covered by CW). Second and third places went to Guadeloupe and the Philippines, who sang and performed gymnastics respectively.
Anyway, I thought this would be interesting for some of ye, and it definitely excited me to see one of my favourite songs featured at an international beauty pageant. I also think it’s an excellent tribute to Moya Brennan, and could introduce one of the world’s greatest bands to an entirely new audience.
