I decided to check the old forum today (https://www.celticwomanforum.com/) and it comes up with a "forbidden" error message.

I thought the community should know.

That’s horrible. There were so many good resources on there…that old forum helped me learn so much about CW. Is there any way we could get archives of the forum’s data? I know there’s some tech savvy people on here…

This is, unfortunately, not unusal.  There have been several forums I followed over the years.  Typically, it seems as if they are owned/managed by a single person.  When something happens to that person, no one pays the hosting bill, etc and the forum just dies.

I also heard a rumour that the last Admin hadn't signed on in over 10 years.

AHA! I was fiddling around with the Archive Machine and I found a copy of the site from April 2025. Maybe we could start archiving this for our use? There may be more copies backed up but it is a large effort to check them all. https://web.archive.org/web/20250428192823/https://www.celticwomanforum.com/

I also noticed that some posts were backed up and some never did, which legit sucks. It appears to be random.

I suppose that means we need safeguards for this forum if anything like that happens here, so we don't have to move on to a celticwomanforum.org and, when that falls, a celticwomanforum.gov. Don't ask me how the government got involved.

I guess that would be a question for Glen and Tom, and maybe Tracie, though she hasn't been on here in a while.

urbanracer34 you are right she has not logged in in over 10 years I have contacted the host several times tring to get ahold of her or to buy the domain name but was always the same answer we will email her and see what happens but nothing ever did.

stars_at_dawn it would be a very hard thing to do to bring data over to this forum because the data files are shared with  the high kings and I looked and there forum is also dead and I have asked over the years for people to bring anything they have posted they would like to save over here. But very few users of the old forum are here there are a few but not alot.

The Old forum the domain is good till 5-2027 so it was just renewed not sure why the web site has gone down but it is very old software and very outdated
