Étáin & Máire Ní Churraoin are two sisters that were performers and speakers at the Celtic World Forum this year. They're passionate about preserving and proliferating the Irish language and culture. They're also passionate about Sean-Nós, but they aren't afraid to adapt the arrangements to make the music more accessible to a wider audience.
Their album "
Cá'il an Bheirt?" is really good! The blood harmony is fantastic. The instrumental backing is excellent. There's a great mixture of songs that are very pretty and fun to listen to.
This one's a legitimate contender for my all-time favourite vocal album that doesn't fall into the "Celtic Woman related" category. I highly recommend it!
Here are some places you can follow these two and listen to their beautiful work.
