Is the music in The Parting Glass too loud when all the ladies sang together or when the bagpipes played during the live special? Even the version in PFI sounded better and that album is kind of notorious for its odd mixing.

Which live show?  I was in Atlanta for both nights of the Believe taping.  I think it's hard to get a good, clear sound when you are recording from a large, live venue.  It was a very impressive show, especially right at the end where the bagpipers came down the aisles.  I would think that makes it difficult to record since microphones are not out in the audience.

For the 20th anniversary special.

I agree live it sounds fine, but hearing it on TV/ the DVD, the music sounded a little loud over the singing and bagpipes. Maybe it's a post-production/mixing thing.

The vocals are definitely as loud as the music on PFI. You will definitely sense the difference with the 20th. The 20th is as if Celtic Woman had a Graduation Ceremony in an arena. :P
