A New Journey / Re: Noticed a Typo in the CD Booklet
« Last post by stars_at_dawn on May 18, 2026, 09:33:10 PM »
I looked through my cd of Nollaig from last year and the credits are also a bit confusing. Some of the songs list either Ciara or Tara, but some have no violinist listed at all. It’s also perplexing how Tara Howley is only credited on one song (The Bells of Dublin/Christmas Eve/Navan in the Snow), making it seem like she’s a special guest on the album (which she was), yet on the other side of the pamphlet it has a list of the members of cw (Mairéad, Muirġen, Caitrionas, Tara M, and Ciara) then it has the “special guest” listed as just Sibeal, and Tara Howley is credited as part of the band!
I always thought that The Bells Of Dublin/Christmas Eve/Navan In The Snow was meant to highlight Tara H rather than be the only song she's featured in, but that definitely is still weird that she only gets that one mention.

I think there are definitely some tracks that don't have a violinist. River is the one I know for certain, I remember that as being the only solo that didn't have Ciara backing at the show I went to. And I think they might have wanted to only credit the vocalists for the solos so they seemed more even. I think it's confirmed that Tara accompanied Muirgen for The Wexford Carol, but I'm uncertain about Don Oiche Ud i mBeithil (on computer). All I can say for certain is that Ciara accompanied Caitriona for the live version. I also wouldn't be surprised if Silver Bells was just the vocalists, but I can't remember how it was live and I'm too lazy to grab my CD from my room (in all fairness, I am supposed to be working  :-\).

Also, I just now realised that there's an alternate universe where Tara Howley joins CW as a permanent member and we're left with another Lisa/Mairead situation on our hands. Tara McNeill also returns to CW in this universe for maximum confusion.

I’ve seen things like that happen before and I’m always confused as to why? 😂, but I think my questions are more on the side of what songs they consider “duets” and which ones they consider solos. I see this mainly on 20, Tara and Meav are both credited for Lay Your Head Down, however Tara has the same level of involvement (in my opinion) on A Stór Mo Chroí and that’s considered Muirgen’s solo. So I wonder if they’re often mistakes made on the graphic design side of things or just a slightly odd way of categorizing the songs, though I have zero musical training so I don’t know if there’s actual differences between them.
That is interesting…I also noticed later on in the booklet that they didn’t credit Máiréad for her violin parts on The Voice.

I do wonder if they didn’t credit Tara for A Stór Mo Chroí so it would seem more like a standalone Muirgen song…after all, I don’t think Mairéad and Emma had Tara play on their solos. Méav’s probably didn’t matter as much because she wasn’t an actual member and she also joined for Dúlamán.

I also wonder if they didn’t credit Hayley for The Last Rose Of Summer so the solo count would seem even for the vocalists, as the ANJ version of Danny Boy wasn’t on the CD (although I don’t think there was much of a difference between that and the debut version). But it’s still a weird decision because TLROS is pretty obviously not a Méav solo! She doesn’t even come in until the second verse!

Songs from the Heart / Re: Is that Bucees in Songs From The Heart Special?

Hmm. I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow.

But I did wanna post this if you are a Buc-ees fan. At the end of this tour bus video, MC shows two stuffies in her bunk. She even gives it a shout out, calling it her Buc-ees teddy. And there's a close-up shot.

Songs from the Heart / Is that Bucees in Songs From The Heart Special?
« Last post by celtic4life on May 15, 2026, 09:43:19 PM »
Tonight, after a long week of work, I wanted to turn on Songs From The Heart to wind down. While watching, during the song "Goodnight My Angel" there's a moment towards the end where the camera goes to a child wrapped in a blanket in the audience. To my surprise, my eyes noticed immediately that the logos on the blanket looks closely to the Bucees logo.

What do you think?

Celtic Woman / Birthday
« Last post by dbbii on May 15, 2026, 02:27:44 PM »
So I was browsing the forum and found a listing of all the girls birthdays.  I'd seen it before.  Brought back an interesting memory.

I'm pretty sure it was at a SFTH concert in St Petersburg, FL.  It occured on Mairead Nesbitt's birthday, April 18.  Some number of "us" were sitting in the first 1 or 2 rows.  So, when she came out near the end of the show to do the closing comments, we started singing Happy Birthday!  By the end, most of the audience was singing along!  Mairead kind of didn't know how to react!

I was a member of the old CW forum and, I think, the High Kings for a short time.  You made a statement about bringing things over.  How do I do that?

I saw the High Kings once when they performed prior to the CW concert at, I think, Radio City.

urbanracer34 you are right she has not logged in in over 10 years I have contacted the host several times tring to get ahold of her or to buy the domain name but was always the same answer we will email her and see what happens but nothing ever did.

stars_at_dawn it would be a very hard thing to do to bring data over to this forum because the data files are shared with  the high kings and I looked and there forum is also dead and I have asked over the years for people to bring anything they have posted they would like to save over here. But very few users of the old forum are here there are a few but not alot.

The Old forum the domain is good till 5-2027 so it was just renewed not sure why the web site has gone down but it is very old software and very outdated
