New Members / New Member! <3« Last post by maddie-ni-mhurchu on December 03, 2025, 02:18:12 PM »Hey Everyone!
I'm Maddie Ní Mhurchú, I'm actually from Ireland! My online time may be a little weird. I'm only new to all of this, please forgive me if I make mistakes! I started listening to CW in September 2025 and hearing their new album Nollaig just made it all so much more intriguing. I was reading over some introduction boards to familiarise myself with the community, some people are fans since the PBS 2004 special, that is absolutely wild! I'm still learning whos voice is who and registering their names in my head, I might mix everyone up, I'm awful at names ![]() Anywho, thank you for allowing me to join such a wonderful community, this is honestly so lovely and hopefully when I do become a bit more confident in CW I will be able to join in on discussions and topics! ![]() Take care, everyone! A Christmas Symphony Tour 2025 and release date 11-07-2025 / Re: My Thoughts On The Album!!« Last post by rfcw on December 03, 2025, 09:38:12 AM »I know it’s been a while but I just listened to Codail A Linbh again…Muirgen is absolutely incredible on the album!!! They should’ve just let this be her solo and had Wexford Carol as a group performance like in The Magic Of Christmas…or given her both…I’m not fond of preferential treatment but I’d make an exception here… Oh my goodness, I too feel the same ever since Muirgen stepped on the scene. One of my favorite moments about the 20th Anniversay Special is on Dawning of The Day when you see Mairead slowly turning gazing at Muirgen as she shines on her signature parts. When you say PFI did her dirty all I can assume was she was given only one solo. I really love that the musical director at that time recognized Susan with the acknowledgement that she would not be able to tour. So having Susan on Amazing Grace with The Ancient Land Castle in the Landscape backdrop was some how to me giving a little outdoor castle special makeup for she wasn't able to partake in the Ancient Land Special from her pregnancy. I would say Alex should of been guest or featured on another album, special or holiday special which is why I was saluting Caranua all the way. As Like Susan who has come back to fill in for the girls so had Alex and Lynn for the 10th Anniversary Tour and Lynn for Emerald in 2014. Had the Destiny Special featured Alex and Lynn as Special Guests it would of made more sense than Rebecca, Rebecca knew to play the harp but she never became a Celtic Woman. 24

I think Codail A Linbh is actually my favourite song from the album. I wasn’t too fond of the production at first (and I still think it could be better), but I like it more with each listen. It definitely was begging for a harp, though. I wish they’d given this to Tara and maybe Little Drummer Boy or something to Ciara instead. Or even have some other band member play it! But anyway, everyone performs amazingly, and Muirgen is absolutely magnificent. I honestly think Muirgen has the potential to be my favourite Celtic Woman member ever (or maybe second to Órla). I don’t think any of the other CW vocalists have been able to move me as much as Muirgen has. The sheer emotive, beautiful power of her voice is unmatched. Anyway, this turned into more of an ode to Muirgen than anything else, but that’s kind of how I feel with every CW song with her in it! (Except for maybe some of the PFI ones because she was done quite dirtily there 😭). 27
CW Musicians and Choir / Re: Brian McGrane« Last post by CWazyTom on November 29, 2025, 11:18:35 PM »Brian (as Engrane) released a piano album of Christmas music, inventively named Christmas Piano. It's a digital-only release.

Celtic Woman / Re: Best Song Version Part 10: May It Be« Last post by stars_at_dawn on November 29, 2025, 10:12:42 PM »That double-soprano harmony backing was insane. I was crying.Catriona the new member really left me speechless.. That would be heavenly!! I could see them remaking this for A New Era (which I am fairly certain will have an album released alongside or shortly after the tour). They might just have it be a Caitríona solo, though, as she’s probably most known for singing that at Éabha’s Celtic World Forum. One change that could potentially be wonderful is if they divided the song equally between them rather than the one main singer and the other two vocalising, but still maintaining the harmony for the chorus. The other two backing the main singer reminds me of Óró Sé Do Bheatha ‘Bhaile from Destiny. Maybe they could bring someone back for that song (Méav would sound heavenly!) and have the three others backing it, but I doubt they’d do that as they just had Susan return for her solo rendition. 29

Celtic Woman / Re: Best Song Version Part 10: May It Be« Last post by rfcw on November 29, 2025, 09:13:02 PM »That double-soprano harmony backing was insane. I was crying. Yes Indeed, why it was my vote, while I’m happy for Susan got a solo out of it, the trio one with Mairead C, Megan and Chloe is such a missed opportunity for a recording, such chills! The one with Susan is same but something about Chloe made it better more powerful. I tried then liking the one with Muirgen, it was good but not as Mairead C epic if you know what I mean and they switched up things but I preferred it first time first way how they did it in Celebration! Catriona the new member really left me speechless.. Can you imagine if they revisited this with Mairead C, Muirgen and Catriona !!! |
