Kate Heneghan / Re: Is Kate retiring from CW now?
« on: May 02, 2026, 09:46:34 AM »
I read this as this tour is ending and there's no plan for another tour/recording right now.  My guess is CW needs to analyze where they are financially and see where they go from here.  I only went to one show this year, and it wasn't full.  Are they reevaluating?

I would be heartbroken if they put CW out to pasture. It has been a big part of many people's lives over the years, myself included.

Feel like the luckiest girl I got to live out this childhood dream over the last 2 months.

Unforgettable @celticwomanofficial 💙🩵 see you tomorrow Newfoundland!

If this is true I would be sad. She did a great job when I saw her this tour. I wish she would have stayed on with CW. Who are they going to have as a fiddle player now mid-tour?

Welcome to the forum!

I first saw Celtic Woman in 2014 and I saw them again this year. (A few weeks ago, in fact) And they were both incredible.

If you can see them, I HIGHLY encourage going.

I tried to view while logged out but X won't let me view anything unless logged in and when I tried to log back in I had a hard time getting logged back in so X is still having problems

Thanks for trying.

I'm looking for someone with an "X" account who can work with me on a couple things. It appears my account has been "ghosted" and I want to confirm if I can receive and send tweets. My profile appears blank when not logged in but shows up when logged in.

Thanks!

EDIT: my account is @urbanracer34

No have at it
Thank you! Let’s hope I can redeem myself…

This member is so far the only CW member from this province in Ireland…

Attached for reference is a map detailing the provinces of Ireland. Note that provinces are different from counties, the counties are within provinces.
Okay, no one has replied to this in over a week, so I’ll just give the answer. It’s Kate. She’s from Mayo (in Connacht province).

Here’s one that should hopefully be easier: which members have sang and played an instrument simultaneously while performing with CW?

I'll give this a different perspective, as it can be read differently.

We have Lisa Lambe performing spoons while singing TAR on Believe. And we also have Orla playing the Harp while playing Isle of Innisfree on The Original Show.
Yes, Lisa Lambe and Órla are two of the members I’m thinking of. However, there’s more. I’ll give you a hint—there are two other members who also have played spoons on Téir Abhaile Riú.

I'll give my final guesses, and if they're not correct, I will let someone else try to solve it: Mairead C and Eabha
Well, you technically are correct; Mairéad and Éabha played accordion and tin whistle on Téir Abhaile Riú respectively. (Both also play the same instruments on The Kesh Inn, and Éabha plays tin whistle on her solos Garden Of Eden and Siúil A Rún as well, and I believe also Dia Do Bheatha…?), but to my knowledge, neither of them have ever played spoons with CW.

I'll pass it on to the next person who can guess it correctly.

Thanks for working on this and fixing it. Hopefully it is a permanent fix.

Thanks for posting! That was a long time between concerts in Saskatoon!

Hello! All is good with the family! :)

Thanks for caring. My family will make it through this. <3

Not entirely sure. I am wiped and I have a couple things medical coming up in the family very soon.

Just got home from the concert so I thought I would get my thoughts down while they're still fresh.

They got here from Regina (southeast of us in Saskatoon) which happened to have a major snow storm yesterday and were able to get here safely.

Mairead C was the only one I recognized from the last tour stop here in Saskatoon in 2014.

Mairead said that she was happy to be at the hometown of Joni Mitchell (Who hails from Saskatoon,) how Joni deserved the Juno for Lifetime achievement and sang a cover of "River."

During the concert, the group decided to cover a Dolly Parton song, Jolene.

There was no choir and in a way, it helped the CW members voices come more through on the sound system.

Overall a great concert and I've heard some songs for the first time live that I haven't heard since ANJ or even The Original Show.

Couldn't take photos or audio/video recordings but bought some swag. I was posting an image but it is way too large.

Understood Glen! Thanks for the info.
