They deleted the pics of Tara & Emma at the bottom of the CW website (Tours & Tickets, Store, etc).
There are four pics of the "CW model" right now.
The fact Caitríona & Ciara are announced as “new members”makes it sound like Emma & Tara are gone and not returning. Emma hasn’t been on stage since the 20 tour ended so a warning sign there

Did they replace Tara?! That makes me sad if they did.
this is the way CW posted it and makes it sound just for the christmas tour
Caitríona Sherlock and fiddle player Ciara Ní Mhurcú are joining the Celtic Woman line-up for our upcoming Symphony tour.
As Tara just had her baby 2 1/2 weeks ago and with baby only little over 3 months old at the start of the christmas tour kind of hard to leave baby with new dad even more so if Tara is feeding the baby and as for Emma it's unknown
Given that Emma is missing again it seems doubtful that she may be there "too much longer". One would hope she'll do another tour but it seems like if she does another one she may leave after it. Either way Mairead & Muirgen are still there though.

What do we think? New album? New special?? Both?? I haven't seen anything on social media about them recording in the studio.

I think the Christmas tour is going to tell us something about the future. It will depend on who is on the Christmas tour. Will the girls want to tour for the typical 4 or 5 months? I know Lisa Kelly toured with her kids, but not when they were infants. As much as I hate to say it, are we seeing the end of CW?
It's seemed like overtime that if they record/film anything during the summer that seems to "set up" who will do any later in the year touring/whatever happens after the new year. It really seems like whenever they post they are recording something that's our first taste of the lineup for the next year or so.

I've been thinking the same.
There's only a month or so left in the window to record a special that would air next spring. Given recent developments affecting PBS, the chances of a new special this year are very low.
It isn't too unusual for there to be no tour announcement by now, but there hasn't been a single CW show for 2026 posted by any venue yet. I don't want want to completely write off a 2026 spring tour yet, but if there's nothing by the end of September, there's basically no chance of a spring tour in 2026.
Yeah. Some dates “leak” some times in early summer but then don’t go on sale until mid fall. If there WERE to be new CW music released mid-late fall/in January at this point it feels like we would get an album but no special.

We are at the time of year where the ladies are often in the studio and about to tape a new special. As we all know they have not recorded since 20. Given that nothing has been posted on socials about being in the studio (sometimes a stack of sheet music or maybe one or two of the girls posing for the camera) do we think that we will be headed for two years of no Celtic Woman spring tour??? They can't do it without putting something out (which they always do). If that's true this will be the longest gap between any two albums/specials. It used to be every year or other year with releasing something. Do we think they're slowing down (years off become more common) or about to go down a similar route to Celtic Thunder who post 2013 has gone to every few years doing something "completely new" (2013 Mythology album and DVD/tour/Christmas Voices album---2014 Christmas Voices album renamed Christmas Symphony and supported with tour--2015 Very Best of album and tour--2016 Legacy album + special had no new songs and was a live recording of a 2015 north American tour stop + another tour in support of it---2017 Inspirational album + second christmas symphony tour--2018 10th anniversary; album, special and supporting tour--2019 year off--2020 Ireland compilation special + tour thwarted by COVID--2021 continued thwarting of tour by COVID--2022 thwarted tour proceeds but many canceled shows--2023-24 Odyssey tour for two years + PBS special aired in 2024 + new live album--2025 Greatest Hits album and new tour).

Just a theory but maybe they'll do what they did with IOH and SFTH. They were going to do an IOH DVD, but it was cancelled for various reasons, so they started with the IOH tour in the spring and did the SFTH DVD later that summer (2009) with the SFTH tour the next spring.
So were they going to do a dvd called isle of hope in 2008 to be toured in 2009 but scrapped it and released The Greatest Journey instead??
Yes.
So are you wondering if?? * This Fall: New album similar to Greatest Journey (maybe a couple new tracks: one old and maybe a couple remakes that they may have had planned for 20 but didn't do either on the recording or the tour + tracks off of Postcards from Ireland & 20). *Next year: New tour (Feb-May) + recording a new album and special (Summer). *Year after that: New tour based off new album. Similar to *The Greatest Journey Fall 2008, *Isle of Hope tour Feb 11--July 2, 2009, *Songs from the Heart recording July 2009, *Second leg of Isle of Hope tour October & November 2009, *Songs from the Heart released January 2010, *Songs from the Heart tour 2010-2011.

With the recent news about Tara. It'll be interesting on how they'll produce a new special. Will Tara be able to tour next year with a new born? Baby would be close to 7-9 months old by the time the tour starts. Emma's would be around 1yr. I'm on the edge of my seat for CW plans for the next year. It's been really quiet this year with only single releases.
It seems like when a member takes maternity leave (or any leave) it’s lengthy. Meav took off starting in July 2005 and did not return until after the new year. When she returned in early 2006 she hadn’t performed since taping the first show/recording the first CD (over a year). Lisa K finished out all touring for 2007, took off for the February—May 2008 A New Journey tour but returned in time to record new songs for The Greatest Journey around late summer 2008 and to do the final Europe leg of A New Journey. In all it had to be about 9 months between her last show before maternity leave and her return. She finished 2011, took off all of 2012 and then called it quits at the beginning of 2013 (Susan must not have recorded the Home for Christmas CD because they didn’t know what the future would hold at that point? ?) Susan took maternity leave in 2018 but really never quit she just became the “on call” member like Meav. Emma hasn’t performed since the 20 tour which no overseas audiences got to see so who knows. If she returns this Christmas it’ll be 1 1/2 years since she was last on stage because of the break after the 20 tour.

When are we going to start the speculation as to who is going to be on the tour?
I could see almost everyone participating for the Christmas tour, since it is relatively short. The next "regular" or Spring tour is another story altogether.
I think the most likely to miss the Christmas tour might be Tara now. Could we see the return of Mairead Nesbitt temporarily?
I bet if they record later this summer that would give the first hint as to who would be on the christmas tour. Most years there's been a small change between earlier in the year (spring tour, recording, etc) and the christmas tour. The only timeframe where the lineup was unchanged was 2018-2019. The same group that recorded Ancient Land did the 2018 Best of Christmas tour, Ancient Land tour, recorded The Magic of Christmas during summer break and then did The Magic of Christmas tour. Mairead Nesbitt is a safe bet for a sub.

Oh yes! Please! It would be great if we had a new special and an album at the end of this year.
I did a lot of research on the dates of previous years, they announced album 20 on June 16, 2023, but production only started around July 6. With PFI it was something similar, the recordings of the songs were at the end of June and beginning of July and the special in the last two weeks of July 2022. I gathered this data based on the girls' Instagram posts and Stories. However, not everything needs to be like this since the album Destiny, for example, was recorded in July and announced ONE WEEK before the recording of the special in Dublin (which made many fans angry because they couldn't plan in time to travel).
We'll wait and see, but I believe we'll have to wait until the end of July to know for sure, remembering that Ancient Land was announced at the end of July and recorded in September 2018, so we'll see.
Yeah. With Ancient land in July 2018 there was a cryptic photo of a studio with text saying New Celtic Woman Album and announcing the taping.

I am hoping they produce some new material. That would be a nice surprise.
Maybe someone who knows more than me can chime in. But I'm not sure what the availability of Mairead and Emma are right now. Emma is a new mom. Mairead sounds like she is working on her solo album this summer. (The good news is at least they still ID themselves as CW on their social media pages or have CW tagged. )
Given their reputation for not taking too long (2004-2006 x2-2008 new tracks for compilation-2009-2010 new tracks for Lullaby compilation-2011-2012 christmas album-2013-2015-2016 1/2 new and 1/2 remake-2017 live-2018-2019 christmas album-2021-2023) one would think there'll be something this year.

Do we think given no tour this spring that they will record something new later this year??? Looking back on the cycle over the last four years it seems a given that it's time. 2021: Postcards from Ireland recorded and filmed June and July, released: Oct 29, 2021 and premiered on PBS: Nov 27, 2021 (DVD received general release January 2022). 2022: Postcards from Ireland tour: February-June + August Ireland shows, Christmas Cards from Ireland EP recorded September and released Nov 4, 2022, Christmas Symphony tour. 2023: No spring tour, Studio recording for 20 around July and August 2023, 20th anniversary concert August 25, 2023 and premiered on PBS Nov 25. 2024: 20 CD & Live DVD released on January 26, 20 Tour: February-May, Christmas Symphony tour. 2025: No spring tour. Wonder if they will record "end of the summer" as they seem to tend to. Do we think they'll tape a special too?? If they record they would release the album either before the symphony tour (October or November which they've done before) or early on in the new year (end of January again most likely) before the spring tour would begin.

There's usually more songs recorded for their albums and some are cut from the album. Some examples, Ancient Land deluxe edition additional tracks were recorded with the original album, but was not released in the original and not filmed.
Yeah. I have the 20 track Voices of Angels CD from Target. The digital version had 16 tracks and the standard CD had 18.
