Found this on the old forum and thought it would be fun here!
I'll start. This member can play the violin but doesn't professionally.
-
Thanks for trying something new (on here).
I'll take a wild guess. I'm not sure if I heard this in an interview or I'm totally making it up.
Orla ?
-
No, but an interesting guess! Thanks for answering : ). I’ll give you a hint. This member was not one of the original five.
-
My guess is Muirgen
-
As far as I know, no, although Muirgen does play the piano and flute.
Here’s another hint: this member is a natural brunette, although I think she briefly had blonde hair once when she was with CW.
-
Yes Muirgen does/did play she started playing at 5 years old Here is a AI serch on the topic
She started violin lessons around age 5 but has said she was "terrible at it" and soon gave it up (along with classical flute, drums, and piano) to focus on singing.
Also Hayley plays the violin
as a hobby. Hayley Westenra also learned violin (plus piano, guitar, and recorder) as a child
This is a hard topic has the girls have many hidden talents
-
I didn’t know that! You got me there!
Hayley was the member I was thinking of, as it mentions she learned violin on Wikipedia.
Do you want to go next? Sorry about my blunder 😅
-
No have at it

No have at it
Thank you! Let’s hope I can redeem myself…
This member is so far the only CW member from this province in Ireland…
Attached for reference is a map detailing the provinces of Ireland. Note that provinces are different from counties, the counties are within provinces.

Interesting as somewhat only Hayley came to mind.

Okay, no one has replied to this in over a week, so I’ll just give the answer. It’s Kate. She’s from Mayo (in Connacht province).
Here’s one that should hopefully be easier: which members have sang and played an instrument simultaneously while performing with CW?

Oh you learn something new every day.
I did not know Ireland had provinces. I know a lot of the Counties. And it took me a while to know the difference between Great Britain & the UK, and the countries they contain. But I didn't know Ireland had provinces. Thanks!

One of my favorite songs is Ireland's Call, when done by Celtic Thunder. Great closing song. Anyway, one line is "from the 4 proud provinces of Ireland:.

I'll give this a different perspective, as it can be read differently.
We have Lisa Lambe performing spoons while singing TAR on Believe. And we also have Orla playing the Harp while playing Isle of Innisfree on The Original Show.

Yes, Lisa Lambe and Órla are two of the members I’m thinking of. However, there’s more. I’ll give you a hint—there are two other members who also have played spoons on Téir Abhaile Riú.

I'll give my final guesses, and if they're not correct, I will let someone else try to solve it: Mairead C and Eabha

Well, you technically are correct; Mairéad and Éabha played accordion and tin whistle on Téir Abhaile Riú respectively. (Both also play the same instruments on The Kesh Inn, and Éabha plays tin whistle on her solos Garden Of Eden and Siúil A Rún as well, and I believe also Dia Do Bheatha…?), but to my knowledge, neither of them have ever played spoons with CW.

I'll pass it on to the next person who can guess it correctly.

I would have guessed similar to urbanracer34. I did think of these later...
- Susan on TAR:
https://youtu.be/Ixa48siLbFA
- Emma on Sionann

YES!! Susan and Emma also qualify!! ;D
I also think Megan played the spoons on The Kesh Inn and Téir Abhaile Riú during the Ancient Land tour, and I’m pretty sure that she and Susan had a spoon duel when Susan replaced Mairéad, but I cannot confirm that. But as far as I know, that’s all of the members who have sung and played an instrument simultaneously with CW.
Shall you go, LakersCeltics?
-
Ok, I have a question. Let me think of how to phrase it so it makes sense. ;D
Yours was a good question!
-
This ex-CW covers a song (on one of her solo albums) that has the name of her home County in the song title.
Name that CW.

Is it Mairead N? (on computer so no fadas). The Belles Of Tipperary is one of the songs on her album Hibernia.
I think I'll take a break from answering for a while so others can go, unless I get a turn that no one else wants or a question goes too long unanswered.

Nicely done! She was born in Tipperary.
I wasn't sure if that was a hard or easy question.
I probably made a mental note of that song b/c the pastor at my church is from Tipperary.
-
Anyone else want to go?
-
Alright let me see if I can come up with anything ;-)
How about this... this member has filled in the most for anyone, any member ;D who is she?

Okay, I know I said I was going to stop answering for a bit, but no one else has chimed in and this is eating me up inside.
It’s either Susan, Méav, Lynn, or Alex. Does the duration of the fill-in time matter?
I’ll go with Susan because of Postcards From Ireland, second guess Méav.
