Title: Celtic Thunder tour dates are here.
Post by: CWFella2011 on March 17, 2024, 06:37:36 PM
It's a second year of Odyssey. They say "more dates to be added" but I don't see a lot of room in the September 10--November 18 time frame. Unless it'll go past 11/18??? Is it possible that the cities they went to last year will be skipped
I have not been to see Celtic Thunder in several years. The last (and only) tour I went to was the second christmas symphony tour (The one that had Neil, Ryan, Damian, Emmett, Michael).
I would love to have gone last year but for personal reasons I couldn't.

Looks like I'll be seeing Celtic Thunder again this year (at least once)!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look.

I just saw Odyssey on PBS. I won't post here. I'll have to tag my post with a spoiler alert if I review it.

My PBS is offering tickets and pre-show Soundcheck tickets. I personally prefer the description of the post-show party. Then I'd have to buy direct from CT.

Anyone else PBS offering pre-show or post-show?

It seems Celtic Thunder is completely skipping Minnesota this year >:(
It's a bummer because I was hoping I could finally go again (I have missed TWO that have followed the one I went to).

Does anyone know what is going on with Ryan Kelly? It seems like he is still taking a break from CT. But if you look at his recent social media posts, he doesn't even look like himself. Not sure if he has other health problems? That's a little concerning.

I had already saw that they were going to be in my area.  I can't believe my daughter chose to go to see Taylor Swift instead of CT!!  I checked PBS -- all they are offering is a pair of tickets, but the venue will sell a single.  I'm considering the VIP pass as well.

Interesting that you now buy the M&G from the group, just like CW is now doing.  Plus, you get to mingle with 2 of the members, but you don't know which two.  Again, kind of like the old CW M&G.

Someone said hip surgery was impending at one point.

Yes, but she likes Taylor more!  She's in Miami the same weekend as CT is in Clearwater, FL.    We've been to a couple of CT shows.  She's been to maybe 25 CW shows.  The ticket cost for Taylor is probably more than I paid for all her CW shows!

I found a FB post from Ryan Kelly dated April 6. Basically he says he'll be back for the CT cruise in 2025. Hope this link works.

I wish CW would borrow this idea from CT. Check out the promo video for the CT cruise.

Can you imagine a cruise with CW with a concert every day, signing autographs / M&G, and hanging out?

Yeah Taylor is Expensive this time. I have seen Taylor, CT AND CW myself -- the latter two in smaller venues so those typically aren't insane prices.

That probably be such a thing I'd be jealous if that existed.

I always kinda budgeted $1,000 per CW show.  Most of the shows I went to were out of town.  They've typically done 6 or 7 shows in Florida, but Florida is a big state.  I could usually go to 2 shows without staying overnight.  So you end up with a hotel room, food, gas.  Then, maybe you end up flying, renting a car, and at least a second hotel room.  Then if you go to, say New York, you stay a couple extra days, see a Broadway show or two, and you are spending $600 a night for a hotel.

At some point it hurts to think about how much I have spent over the years.  I know I am blessed to be able to have done it, especially when some of the shows I went to my daughter went with me.  How many Dads get to say their kid WANTS to go places with them!  At some point, you can't put a price on memories!

In case you missed it, CT sang the National Anthem on Monday Night Football. I think they were in PA for the tour (obviously).
