A Christmas Symphony Tour 2023 / Re: Casino shows.
« on: December 01, 2023, 06:14:36 PM »
Checked my setlists and at Mystic Lake for Magic of Christmas they removed intermission and the first two songs after intermission, which on that tour were Murphy's Mistletoe (orchestra only) and a combination of It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas and Ding Dong Merrily On High.

For the Magic of Christmas show at Mystic Lake, they cut intermission plus a couple of songs. After work today I can look back at my setlists from that year to see what specifically they cut. I don't know the exact requirement that casino's put on them, but casinos do have time restrictions which is unfortunate.

There are so many amazing things about the 20th Anniversary and I loved being in that audience so much! Here's what I chose for my top 3:

1) Mairéad's Cinema Paradiso - big shock, right? Anybody who knows me knows that Mairéad is my all-time favorite singer, that her stunningly gorgeous voice is my favorite thing on earth, and that she's a very dear friend of mine. Watching this live at the filming, my jaw was dropped the entire time in awe of the beauty. And as beautiful as this song is in the special, it's even more spectacular on tour where Mairéad is really showing off her opera voice. Phenomenal performance!

2) Muirgen's A Stor Mo Chroi - I am loving this song so much! I had been waiting to hear Muirgen sing a song like this since she joined the group. I saw her perform numerous times in 2022 and really enjoyed it, but after this filming I said this is the best I've ever heard from her. Muirgen absolutely nails this song and it is so perfect for her voice!

3) I put Other for I Know My Love - I am soooo addicted to this song! I've been playing it over and over since it released. It's just so much fun and so catchy! Really fun lyrics, arrangement, choreography, everything. Love it!

There are close ups of me and Gregg at the beginning of Dulaman and at the beginning of Tread Lightly. There are also more times we spot ourselves in the wider audience shots, but you would need to know where we're sitting for those.

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour

There's definitely gaps to fill in on the schedule, which we'll probably find out fairly soon. I'm particularly interested in April 16th - no show listed for that date yet and in between two Wisconsin shows. Very likely that's a Minnesota show!

Called it! April 16th at State Theatre Minneapolis just added to CW website!

I'm in DC for the Christmas shows and about to head to dinner, but wanted to say quickly that the special is in PBS Passport! Gregg and I watched it this morning and it is soooo gorgeous! There are close ups of us in the audience!

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour

Yeah, meet and greet prices are all over the place and since I frequently travel for shows, that price is a factor in where I choose to go. The highest I've ever done for meet and greet is $485/pair. I was a bit hesitant on going that high, but am glad I did because that turned out to be Èabha's final show.

I just added to the calendar that there's a Denver show on May 26th that we hadn't known about. It's not listed on the CW or on the venue website yet, but there are both regular and meet & greet tickets for it here: https://www.pbs12.org/donate/

A Christmas Symphony Tour 2023 / Re: Is this the Christmas set list?
« on: November 14, 2023, 10:17:24 PM »
I would guess that it's just a general playlist, but a lot of those songs probably are in the setlist. We'll find out in just 10 days!!

At the 20th Anniversary filming, in the lobby before the show, a few of us talked to the man who books Celtic Woman tours. It was a really interesting conversation and included talking about Red Rocks specifically. He said Red Rocks is an incredibly difficult venue to book. I have also been told that venues book two years in advance (and I wouldn't be surprised if Red Rocks was even longer). So it's not for lack of trying if it doesn't get onto the schedule for next year.

Tara McNeill / Re: What are your favorite Across the Atlantic tracks?

No clue how to even choose! The entire album is outstanding! Loved getting to see it performed live a couple weeks ago!

The concert was fantastic!  Tara and Alex are both so incredibly talented! They performed 10 of the 12 songs from the album, plus a couple Disney songs, a couple Irish songs, and a couple classical songs. Alex was on piano and Tara went back and forth from singing to playing violin, sometimes in the same song. Loved getting to hear Tara sing in person for the first time! She has a really beautiful voice. We had front row seats that were so close we were practically on the stage. The entire concert was so beautiful. Loved it! I very much enjoy going to see these types of concerts and supporting the ladies when they do things separate from Celtic Woman. Yes, we got to talk to Tara and Alex after the concert. They were signing cds, taking photos, and talking with people in the lobby. They were so appreciative that we had come to see them. Tara is also one of the ladies who I've gotten to know well and have a personal connection with, which is really lovely ❤️

We spent three days prior to the concert in Manhattan, including my birthday, which was really fun! We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, went to One World Observatory, saw the 9/11 Memorial, walked around Central Park, went to the Museum of Broadway, and saw two Broadway shows. On my birthday, we went to Ellen's Stardust Diner where the wait staff are out of work Broadway actors and they sing and dance and serenade people the entire time. Such a blast! Afterwards we saw Wicked, which was amazing! The next night we saw Aladdin, which was also amazing!

It was a fabulous trip, loved getting to see Tara and Alex perform so beautifully, and loved that the concert was on Long Island, giving us a really fun few days in Manhattan!
