New violinist???

A bit off topic, but does anyone else feel that the promo pictures look a bit off? The dresses appear to be the Symphony tour dresses photoshopped blue, except for Muirgen, who for some reason is the only one wearing a different dress, and even that looks strangely fake. The poses for that picture are also almost the same as the Symphony tour promo. Even this new violinist’s dress is the same as what Ciara had in the previous promo.

Attached is the Symphony promo for reference. Caitríona and Mairéad’s dresses are the exact same apart from colour.

That’s fair. The only problem is that they word a lot of new member announcements that way. Also, the fact that Kate also plays the harp. It seems to me like they might intentionally be trying to find another multi-instrumentalist to replace Tara. The harp, in my experience, is a fairly niche instrument. I have to travel to a different city each week to get lessons. However, I do (unfortunately) live in Texas, so this could be a regional thing and might be different elsewhere, especially in Ireland, where the harp is the national instrument. And Tara doesn’t really play the harp all that much with Celtic Woman anyway, so again, it could be pure coincidence, unless they plan on having more harp numbers (which would be amazing, by the way!).

One thing that intrigues me is that Kate plays the electric violin as well as the fiddle. I am more partial to the regular violin, but I am curious what sort of sound an electric violin would add.

Another thing that I notice is that Kate’s harp playing is shown off as much, if not more, than her fiddling. Even Tara is more well known as a violinist than a harpist. I’m pretty sure that she only played harp on a few numbers (the main ones that I think of are Danny Boy, Mise Éire, and Ancient Land’s Siúil A Rún, and maybe a version of The Parting Glass if I recall correctly…?).

So do they photoshop the dress on when it’s a former member’s dress? It’s hard to think that each member would wear the same size. Do they buy the same model…? Susan’s is probably the same from a Destiny promo (haven’t seen any old Destiny promos but logically speaking), but what about for cases like Chloë and Éabha or Caitríona and Megan?

If so, that’s an incredible photoshop job. I think it’s different though, because of the detail on the top. Susan’s VOA dress doesn’t have anything similar, and Chloë’s dress doesn’t have the bow connecting the skirt and the top.

I guess it's cheaper to photoshop than buy and fit / re-fit a dress or have a photoshoot done sometimes. Especially when the linup is in so much flux leading up to a tour. They started doing this before generative AI was a thing, but hopefully it's still involving someone's artistic efforts.
