This traditional Irish folk song came to be known as a rebel song in the early 20th Century.

This sean-nós piece tells of the singer's sorrow and longing for her bright love to be by her side once again. This one would probably not be categorized as aisling.

I apologize that it's not a great hint, but a lot of sean-nós is pining over lovers, just not all of those lovers are Ireland herself.

Nope.

“Siúil A Rúin” wouldn’t probably be categorized as sean-nós. Depends on who you ask of course, but broadly, it’s a tradition of unaccompanied signing in Irish (though CW often adds accompaniment of some sort).

This can be considered a wild guess but here goes...

“Mo Ghile Mear”?

Nope again. That's another aisling piece since it personifies the land of Ireland mourning her lost lover, her gallant hero.

Hint... The group I posted about in "Other Musicians", Na Féileacáin, did a rendition of this song in English. It's the only sung translation I know of. (Should narrow it down to 4 choices since we've already ruled out Mo Ghile Mear and they've only recorded 5 songs...)

Sorry I made this one so difficult. Kinda killed the game...

Nope. Narrowing the selection down.
Might want to revisit the original hint's wording  ;)

I do admit I've learned the name of another song today....

An Cailín Álainn! (Lisa Lambe/Lynn sang it as the introduction to Dúlaman during the Emerald tour)

Comhghairdeas! It’s one of my personal favorites.
