Amy Rivard / Subjects of the Queen
« on: March 25, 2018, 07:00:07 PM »
Amy Rivard has been collaborating recently with double-base player Georgia Weber.

Together, they're known as Subjects of the Queen.

On July 12, 2017, they released their first EP, called On Common Ground:
https://subjectsofthequeen.bandcamp.com/album/on-common-ground

You can get it for $4 US, but you can also "tip" them more if you want to help support more music down the road.

There's 4 songs.

I thought each of them sounded quite different. The EP's got an overall jazzy feel to it, but there's some bluegrass and a few other styles they try out on the album. Georgia Weber plays the double-base and it compliments Amy's voice nicely. Georgia's not a one-trick pony though. She sings too!

The songs have layered meaning.

Track 61 is my favourite. It has a lot of different styles going on and has some REALLY nice melodies embedded in it.

I thought the EP was good. Check it out!

Chloe Agnew / Chloë with Nathan Carter (2018)
« on: March 25, 2018, 12:26:37 AM »
It looks like Chloë's doing more shows with Nathan Carter next winter.

She's performing on December 4 in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada as part of Nathan Carter's "The Irish Jukebox."

https://www.glatzconcerts.com/festival-of-stars
... search for The Irish Jukebox on the page above to find the relevant section.

I've seen Nathan and Chloë perform together before and it was a great show! I also got to see The Fitzgeralds at his show in Toronto. They're very talented musicians and dancers.

Here's a poster for the show.

I'm not sure yet where else they'll be performing.

Tara McNeill / Tara in Ireland Calling

Ireland Calling

Ireland Calling is a tribute to Irish singers, song writers and song.

Here's some clips from the show in Portalen, Copenhagen in 2014.

You'll probably recognize the set, dresses, and some of the songs from some of the videos on Tara's YouTube channel.

Sizzle Reel

This is more of a sizzle reel of the concert. It features Tara as well as a few other performers and includes some songs that aren't part of her collection on her YouTube channel:

Portalen, Copenhagen, March 29, 2014:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihgyUrDTGhE

The video may also be accessed from Tara's website.

Tara Performing

Here's some videos of Tara performing in the Copenhagen show:

Isle of Inisfree: https://youtu.be/SJvokxy4Lz8

She Moved Through the Fair: https://youtu.be/I6PgbS8cYUw

Siúil a Rún https://youtu.be/qDXFJN5iw2Q

Danny Boy: https://youtu.be/fqKgFSgca_I

Interviews

Here's some interviews with the performers in the show, including Tara:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAOQN-sE9dQ

Tara's interview is from 2:40 ~ 3:45

Among other things, she explains the meaning of her name  ;)

Note: At ~4:00, they cut to scenes from one of the concerts until and the video. The volume for the start of the concert is quite a bit louder than it is for Tara's segment, so if you had to turn the volume up for Tara's interview, please be aware it's going to get loud later in the video.  ;)

Tara McNeill / Tara's Debut with Celtic Woman
« on: March 24, 2018, 11:52:18 PM »
Tara had been dreaming of performing with Celtic Woman for a long time. When she performed the harp in the band during the Celtic Woman: Destiny special / DVD, she looked longingly at the stage, hoping that one day it would be her up there with those girls.

On August 16, 2016, Tara's dream came true!

Here's some information about Tara's first tour with Celtic Woman on their tour to South Africa.

Tara's Role

Tara opened the show with Terloc's Dream (Destiny) as Mairead Nesbitt did earlier in the Destiny Tour.

... I think they should have renamed it #TarasDream for the show, but that's just my opinion ;)

Tara had 2 other solos:
  • Across the World
  • Skyrim

In this tour, Tara only played violin. In the Celtic Woman: Voices of Angels tour, she played harp as well.

Tara wore 2 dresses:
  • A purple one
  • A blue one

Tara McNeill / Tara's Wedding

Tara got married to Alex on January 4, 2018!

Here's a nice little article from back in September, 2017 that touches on Tara's wedding:
https://www.pressreader.com/uk/belfast-telegraph/20170930/282810716475158

Here's the message I left her on her forum...

Tara, through your performances and your wonderful personality, you bring tremendous joy into all our lives and I wish you nothing but happiness for the rest of yours. <3

May you two live happily ever after and may your love be enough to make every Disney couple jealous.  ;D
