The Postcards is the one that needed "help". Yes, part of that may be due to how it was recorded, i.e. outside. That's a challenge itself, then throw the Covid restrictions in and it's more complicated.

I've only been to one CT concert, but I will say this. Ireland's Call is the best closing number!

You raise an interesting point. However, would new US fans fork out a lot of money to go see a show with a group they may not be super familiar with. If I look at my show history, my first show was the only one that year. Same with the second year. Then the 3rd year I went to 9 shows. That year I went to 2 shows in New York and 2 at Red Rocks. Both of those were not necessarily cheap trips (hotel, flights, car, etc), but by then it was worth it, plus my job allowed me to do those kind of things.
I sent in my name for the Helix show, but didn't get chosen. For my wife and I it probably would have been a minimum of $5k. Probably more, since once you pay for the flight, you might as well do some other traveling while you are there. For example, they were doing tours of Highclere Castle.

I had sent in my request for tickets. Didn't get them. OK, such is life. I'm aware that doing any kind of a live show these days is becoming pricey. Thanks Ticketmonster! Did you see the prices for Taylor Swift? Yes, the Notre Dame game conflict was an issue. Did CW even pay attention to that? Yes, maybe that's the only time they could get the Helix.
I would not have done last minute tickets. Maybe in the US, but not overseas. The closer you get to an event, the more things cost. I've said over the years that the ticket cost for CW is the least expensive part of the show.

Didn't I see something that says you can't delete Threads without deleting Facebook? I mean how many social media platforms does one need?

If I recall, Lisa K had some surgery on her vocal chords a couple years ago. She appeared with Chloe at one of Chloe's solo shows in Atlanta and did a song. My guess is she is probably not up to a complete show, but can maybe handle a solo and a group number.

I was listening to CW Christmas music today. Any time is a good time for Christmas music - right?
I am so looking forward to Mairead C singing Auld Lang Syne. She hits the high note in the middle of the song in the Magic of Christmas version (not so much at the end of the song). So good!!!
I was never a big fan of Auld Lang Syne until I heard Eabha do it. Her version then became one of my favs! To me, it's not a song for a soprano to sing.

As Tracie said, chances are if you want to see a Christmas show, be prepared to travel. I live in Tampa, FL. On a regular tour, they usually do 6 or 7 shows in Florida. I've seen two "local" Christmas shows. Last year, I went to Ohio to see the Christmas Show. This year I'm going to Atlanta. I bought the tickets for that before they announced the show in Daytona Beach. Thought about going to Daytona also, but it's more driving than I want to do, considering I go to Atlanta a couple days later. Plus, Atlanta has a M&G!!

I went back thru my notes. I was at Red Rocks ... 2009 Isle of Hope 2010 Songs from the Heart 2013 Believe 2015 X 2017 Voices of Angels 2019 Ancient Land.
I want to say I think they did YRMU at all the shows. I didn't keep track of the specific song list for each

You can spin this a whole bunch of different ways. Performers do not have "steady" jobs. Yes, being on the road can be tiring, so it's understandable that someone decides to leave. However, that also means you need to find another job sooner or later.

So maybe they haven't had great attendance in the past in Minnesota? FWIW, I went to 4 shows last year. Generally in venues that seat maybe 2500 people. Attendance was decent, but it wasn't full. What does it cost to put on a CW show? How does that compare to a Christmas show with the orchestra?
At some point, it's all about the money.

Key to a tour is the travel distance. Take Cedar Falls, IA to Salt Lake City. According to Google, that's a 17ish hour drive. So, chances are there is at least one overnight stop on the way, primarily for the bus driver. I doubt they fly. Flying in the winter has it's own set of challenges. And, in this case, it's and 8 hour flight with a connection.
Same thing at the end of the tour. How do you get from California to South Carolina?
