Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Is Sinne Mna na hEireann.
« on: February 05, 2024, 11:41:12 AM »
Listening to it as I type.
Knowing that it opens the special does anyone else get show opener vibes for once the tour starts??

To me it sounds like at the end of Is Sinne Mná na hÉireann, they sing a piece of "Tread Lightly". Is this true? I did play them back to back and to me it sounds like a good opener. It'll allow Emma to open the show dancing a bit longer.

I think the lyrics are the same for tread lightly and the end of the opening song which i really like! It’s almost like tread lightly is a reprise of the opening song and seeing as the melodies are similar too too me it’s as though they’re the “theme songs” for this new show!

So Mairead vocals at the beginning is the opening of Tread Lightly. So this song is Tread Lightly with Is Sinne Mna na hEireann in the middle.   :D

I'm glad you mentioned the pipes. Just today, I was listening to the new album and I noticed that they like to play pipes with Tara. I think it goes back to VOA album. Not sure why that is, but you can also hear a difference when Mairead N plays Granuaile's Dance. Before it was just her, now the pipes muddle up the notes at times and doesn't sound the same. Wish they would allow Tara to play by herself on those parts to show her talent.

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Album release date.
« on: January 27, 2024, 03:37:07 PM »
Amazon lists a release date of January 26, 2024 for the album.

I pre-ordered the CD from Amazon. It now says it arrives Monday Jan 29 (for me).

Remember if you order CDs from Amazon, you can stream them on Amazon Music right away. So I'm going to listen all day today. I hope 'Parting Glass' and 'You Raise Me Up' sound better (mixed better) on CD than on the special... ;)

Odd, because my CD has a delivery in February, but my DVD is set for Monday. Both pre-ordered the same time, same day announcement was released.

Well yesterday, my delivery date was mid Feb. Today my delivery date is Monday.

So I'm sure you will get your CD sooner than mid Feb. But not sure why it's not coming together with the DVD.

SURPRISE!!! It arrived today with postal. Both DVD and CD was delivered. Crazy that Amazon wouldn't track it.

Did anyone get a hard shell case with their CD? Mine was paper case made in Mexico.

Celtic Woman / Re: Celtic Woman Photobook
« on: December 19, 2023, 03:21:57 PM »
I received my photo book in the mail today! The pics are like what you've seen in the program books. There are a few errors in the book. They list all the specials, except Songs from the Heart and Postcards From Ireland. No pictures or mention in the book for those specials. It talks about 2004, but there's no pictures of 2004 in the book. I was kinda expecting more pics, multiple pages per special, but they limit two pages per special. It does include a mixture of specials and tour pics.

The page titles are listed below. Towards the end, there was an error on what shows the pictures are from and I've placed the error corrections in "()"

Page 1 & 2 - Introduction and A New Journey 2006
Page 3 & 4 - A Christmas Celebration 2007
Page 5 & 6 - Believe 2011
Page 7 & 8 - Home for Christmas 2013
Page 9 & 10 - Emerald USA Tour 2014
Page 11 & 12 - Emerald Europe 2015 (Pics are Destiny Special not Emerald)
Page 13 & 14 - Destiny 2016 (Pics of Homecoming Special not Destiny)
Page 15 & 16 - Homecoming 2016 (Pics of Destiny tour and Homecoming was in 2017 I think.)
Page 17 & 18 - Ancient Land 2018
Page 19, 20, 21 & 22 - Celtic Woman 20 2023
The back cover has square pics of all the girls, similar to the 15th anniversary tour program. It has Hannah included which I'm glad to see them including her with the short term she spent.

With that many errors towards the end, I wonder if there was a printing issue, or maybe it was overlooked and a Page was accidently deleted. I'm curious on how everyone else's turned out.

I have YouTube TV and saw that it'll be on Georgia's PBS this Saturday and next Thursday! Added it to my watch list. Can't believe it got here so fast.

A Christmas Symphony Tour 2023 / Re: Celtic Woman Symphony Tour 2023
« on: August 27, 2023, 10:54:19 AM »
There's been a lot of talk on here about Minnesota Christmas shows. On Friday night before the filming, we met and talked with the man who handles Celtic Woman's tour bookings. I asked him why no Minnesota Orchestra on the Christmas tours. His response was "no comment". Interesting, and as I have suspected for quite some time, there's some unknown thing going on that has them not perform with the Minnesota Orchestra. Thought you all would be interested in that little tidbit.

He also said that Red Rocks is incredibly difficult to book and it sounds unlikely for there to be a Red Rocks show next year. Darn, we thought that was likely for the 20th Anniversary!

Oh wow! As a behind the scenes geek myself, I would have tons of questions for him. Especially how the process works on booking venues and what is usually required when building the contract.

I saw a couple of CW performers (Lisa Kelly included) posting 'show time' on their socials. Are they having a dress reharsal or something?

Most, if not all, filming projects tend to have two nights of filming. Tonight might be rehearsal and close up shots. Tomorrow night, with an audiance, may be filmed again for wide shots to capture an audience.

It's now HIGHLY requested for a behind the scenes or "Making of" special on the DVD. We haven't had one since Believe special, and this is a huge opportunity to have one.

Another thing I thought about is, the original is returning for the special.....but......what if we get surprised by Lisa Lamb, Lynn, and Alex. Could be a possibility.

12
Would this possibly lead to alternating rotation similar to the 10th anniversary tour? Each one takes three months? That would be awesome!

Never say "never". I remember the time Kelly and Chloe both did a Facebook Live and kept saying "No, never going back to Celtic Woman. It's changed." Then they would drink everytime the question was asked.🤣

Oh, I would love to see the interactions from the originals with the current members. Maybe we will get the remixes we've all been building ourselves on YouTube. You Raised Me Up will sound so powerful and strong with all 7 vocals and two violins.

Tara can play harp and Mairead N can play violin in some songs, like Danny Boy.

Those who got tickets are sooooooo lucky!!! This is AMAZING. I now can't wait for December to see it on PBS! Especially when I can order the DVD and watch it over and over again!

Celtic Woman / Re: Celtic Woman Member Timeline
« on: July 16, 2023, 09:24:40 PM »
I forgot that Celtic Woman used to post announcements on their News page on the website. Now it's posted on Facebook.

I did some research and found post all the way back to Susan in 2012. Both Susan and Mairead C was originally announced on their website. Eabha started the Facebook announcements.

Celtic Woman / Re: New member auditions

I wonder if Emma and Hannah were selected from this audition period. Hannah was announced later in October 2022 as a new member. The Emma was announced in May 2023.
