Wow! That seems odd they'd release the digital download edition almost a month before the physical CD. They'd want to consolidate sales for the opening on the charts, would they not?
I wonder if that means they'll release it on Spotify this month too.

iTunes also has it available September 28th and I just pre-ordered! I think I'll be waking up pretty early on my birthday to listen! Same as Amazon with the first 16 tracks. I wonder if The Enchanted Way and Ballroom of Romance are Target exclusives then or if they'll be on all versions of the CD? Either way, I'll also be buying the physical CD to get those two songs. So excited that it's now only six days until getting to listen to the new music again instead of five weeks!

Out of curiosity, earlier this week I was looking up information about how to qualify for a Grammy nomination. I found that for the 2019 Grammys, the album would have to be released between Oct 1, 2017 and Sept 30, 2018. So then I was thinking Ancient Land could be submitted for the 2020 Grammys. Now that we've found the digital release date, I looked again. Digital releases do qualify for submission. So Ancient Land could potentially be in Grammy consideration for the upcoming awards! From attending the DVD filming, it is most definitely a Grammy-caliber album!!

On a related note, I think digital album sales count in the Billboard music charts (including the World Albums chart). I'm not entirely sure about that.
Either way though, the decision to do a split release is kind of a big deal.
The sales are going to be a divided between people getting the album as soon as it releases on digital platforms and a later surge of sales coming when the CD releases October 26. The two releases are essentially going to cannibalize each other (assuming most people won't get both the digital and physical CDs), resulting in a lower peak debut but a slightly more prolonged peak.
That said, even if they consolidated the sales with a simultaneous release of the CD and on digital platforms, I think a #1 debut is probably unrealistic at this point (and I think Celtic Woman probably knows it). BTS just has too many fans. It has the popularity of a mainstream pop album but is tracked on the World Albums chart. It's owning the World Music charts like Celtic Woman used to. Ancient Land's chances of cracking the top spot are significantly lower by having separate release surges though. That's really a shame because Ancient Land is going to be an AMAZING album!

It will be interesting to see how the digital sales do since the only date Celtic Woman has announced is the physical CD release. I wonder how many people have found that the digital release is this week?

I think it will release in North America overnight tonight as scheduled. There are just different release requirements and restrictions elsewhere.

It is on German spotify! I'm sure iTunes and Amazon will add it later, Americans shouldn't need to worry at all. It's incredibly beautiful. Very much like the early albums, but very modern at the same time. Megan fits in perfectly!

It's September 28th on the East Coast now (but only 10:50pm on September 27th in Las Vegas), and Ancient Land (https://play.google.com/music/listen?authuser&u=0#/album/Babckvdb65k3jlpymtdtbx4ilty/Celtic+Woman/Ancient+Land) is available on Google Play Music so I am streaming it!
The service also has the new album Transcendence (https://play.google.com/music/listen?authuser&u=0#/album/Bqxpvbdbzxgkoibhevyohx5vrim/AN%C3%9ANA+%26+Michael+McGlynn/Transcendence) by ANÚNA, which has Lynn Hilary singing on the title track according to Tom (http://www.celticwomanforum.net/index.php?topic=439.msg1211#msg1211).

All of this stuff was released "today", September 28th, and I can already listen to it. What a world! (I gave up on owning all the music that I like a while ago.)

In the meantime, Target has the Ancient Land CD available for pre-order! They don't have the album cover displayed yet or confirmation of bonus tracks yet. I'm going to wait until Celtic Woman officially announces the pre-order (should be pretty soon) and try to order one. It didn't let me have Voices of Angels or Homecoming shipped to Canada, but it looks different now. I think it might let me ship it here. That could change if the target-exclusive CD is licensed for release only in the US. We shall see.

I guess there won't be any bonus tracks on the CD available at Target, because it has got the same UPC as the regular CD. A different track listing would have had a different UPC as well

There might be a second version of the CD offered from Target later. In past years, I've seen them offer the regular CD as well as a special target-exclusive version. I'm holding off on even trying to pre-order (if it will let me) from Target until Celtic Woman makes an official announcement or Target shows a version with special bonus tracks.

I still don't see any Ancient Land CD with exclusive bonus tracks listed on the Target website.
I'd say at this stage there definitely won't be a separate pre-order for that. It would seem kind of silly to release a target-exclusive album after people have order pre-ordered the regular album, but maybe they'll start offering one on release day.

So I guess the DVD is ready to go (at least the concert portion, anyways).
I still wouldn't expect it to release until around January, but it's good that it seems to be completed.

It doesn't look like there's going to be any Target-exclusive version this time. Target still only has the regular album listed on their site. :(
I think they decided that people just wouldn't be able to handle anything more awesome than the regular CD. ;D

One month until the 2019 Grammy nominations are announced.
Celtic Woman release the album I'm digital form on September 30, in time to qualify for a nomination.
So they essentially sacrificed a chance at a #1 Billboard chart debut for a chance to get their album recognized by the most prestigious award in the music business. A pretty good trade-off.
The Grammy Awards are February 10, 2019.
The nominations will be announced December 5, 2018.

When I looked earlier, it wasn't listed on US Amazon so there wasn't a conflicting date at the time. The end of January was the tentative estimate we were given a while ago and there were several reports suggesting since then that end of January was still the tentative time frame. So I was pretty confident when I saw an actual pre-order listed that January 25th was going to be the release date. It all lined up.
But I'm not sure what to make of the conflicting dates that exist now. Clearly, at least one of them is wrong/outdated or the Blu-ray (and CD+DVD combo) are releasing in Canada about month earlier than the US.
I think at this point I'm going to stop digging and just wait for the official announcement, which will probably be some time in January.

I have previously seen it on US Amazon listed as Jan 25th but now it changed to Feb 22nd. I'm with you on waiting for the official announcement.

Interesting. The DVD and CD+DVD combo show they'll be available on January 25 but no mention of the Blu-ray in the CW store yet.

It's looking like possibly the general DVD release will be January 25th and the Blu-ray will release separately on February 22?
I'm going to have more than enough DVDs once all the ones that came with PBS M+G bundles ship, so if the Blu-ray releases later, I'll have to wait for it.
I also found it interesting that there is no mention of special features in the DVD description or track listing. Surprise feature? Or perhaps a Blu-ray exclusive.

Expected release for DVD itself is moved to 15th February 2019, but bundle CD/DVD release wasn´t changed.

I have stopped shopping at Amazon ever since I stopped being a prime customer now get treated like crap was told on the phone without being prime it will take 3 to 5 days just to ship and then can take 5 to 8 days to get it. I preordered this on Dec 26th and they told me on the phone my date to receive my copy will be around Feb 22nd to the 27th. I was also told that they just got there inventory in on Saturday. Tom this might be why they are stalling the release in Canada. I give up on Amazon and sounds like lots of others are also. I online shop with Target or Walmart

No bonus on Blue-ray. I will say, the quality is 100% better than the DVD I received from PBS.

Ya got mine yesterday I got to watch it and have to say it's much better quality the colors are brighter Now will see what it looks like when my new 4K tv shows up in a few weeks. So I like the Blu-Ray much better then the standard DVD what you think Tom

They delayed the release in Canada until at least March 1st, with estimated shipping dates extending into May now. Might be a while before I see it.
I'm not ordering any more at this point.
I already have like 5 copies of Ancient Land DVD and CD from pre-orders, tickets, signed-copy promos, etc. I'm just going to wait for it to get here when it does.

Got my new 4K led tv yesterday and boy what a Differance it makes Went from a Plasma tv to the 4 K man no comparision went from a 1080p hd to a 2160p uhd the cotors and sharpness is so much better then the old one. Got this new TV for free i needed a new cell phone and our carrier was offering buy a new phone and get a free 43 inch LG 4K tv so my Daughter bought me a new phone as a late christmas gift and i also got a free tv can't go wrong with that deal
