Megan Ruby Walsh / Re: Megan says farewell to Celtic Woman
« on: April 17, 2023, 03:39:40 PM »
Wow! This is surprising yet not! Megan to me is young and would thought she'd have at least two more years. It was kind of lovely seeing her so confident at the end with Hannah in the lineup it was like herself and Muirgen were the new Mairead C and Eabha besties! They all have a time to shine as the leader maybe Chloe took a bit of that spotlight haha. It was so great to see her and Susan harmonize together and I was ready for Megan rooting for her to become the top dog!

Celtic Woman / Lineups sound together
« on: April 12, 2023, 11:49:49 AM »
There isn't one time a lineup esp 3 has not sounded less than one or the other. It's unbelievable especially how each of these perfect lineups were achieved and made only by the departure timeline of the members and timeliness of somes return! We all may have favorite lineups but based by the sound I can't even pick one from the 3-lineups. I know many would say for the 4 that the SFTH lineup was the best!>*

Hannah Traynor / Re: New member.
« on: February 03, 2023, 12:15:52 PM »
Did anyone hope the new member would be an alto like Eabha. Now that Hannah is on board wonder if she'll have Chloes spot or will they make changes which I doubt.

I believe that the current lineup will remain for a long time. But we have to wait and see. I think Hannah will take a good part of Chloë's place, but I believe she will also do some of Mairead's parts, and this already started on last year's Christmas tour during Feliz Navidad, when Hannah did Mairead's part, and Muigen did Eabha's. But everything else was as expected: Hannah in Chloe/Eabha's place, Muirgen in Mairead's place, and Megan in Susan's place. I think I've mentioned this before, but this lineup reminds me a lot of the Home for Christmas DVD: Three sopranos are doing different lines. Meav first (highest), Susan second and Lisa L third ("lowest").

Also the 2013 lineup that was Lisa L, Mairead C and Susan!
I can acknowledge that back then there was a certain reason why it ended up that way for Susan replaced Lisa K and Mairead C replaced Chloe. On Emerald Susan did exact Lisa K placement. On HFC it moved Susan taking Chloe spot, Meav being the top soprano Lisa L spot (well Meav was Meav) and Lisa L went the Lisa K spot.

So everything had movement reason however now who would thought we'd see a return of this 3 soprano lineup. I always assumed Megan would take the lowest now and Muirgen would stay middle and Hannah the highest like Mairead C. Perhaps they couldn't find an alto or preferred now someone like Chloe or missing was the Mairead C high upper. Really interesting...

I read somewhere saying they only performed at that venue theater location up until Isle of Hope. Whether they returned there for X Tour I have no idea...if they did I'd be all in for whichever lineup was at the time...

Video from the October '05 & May '08 shows at the Greek in LA is online. Any idea who the filmer is??

This guy made all us CW devoted fans dreams come true! Not only we got Alex and Lynn but another one with Deidre later unexpected. With this we got a chance to see CW effect on changing members and underrated best performances from these 3! I'd assume the location records everything and I'd guess every show was recorded teehee if not🤭🤭🤭

Toured 2023 / Re: 2023 Marks The All Post David Group
« on: January 29, 2023, 10:24:24 PM »
So whom selected Mairead Carlin was it David Downes? Was David still in charge of after HFC with the tours leading on to the X Anniversary? If he didn't then I wonder who led to Emerald Tour having some of the songs changed to whether solo or duet....
Had David stayed on I could imagine that phenomenal choregoraphical duet version of Si Mo Maheimo I would have made it into a special I would imagine!

10 Year Anniversary Tour / Re: 10th Anniversary Tour: Set List(s)
« on: January 23, 2023, 07:27:41 PM »
Sorry to bump up old threads. But this thread is super interesting. How in the world did you guys research this?

Basically the changed set list was shared from members here as the show progressed and whoever seen a show. As The Voice is a signature for the former members it would transfer to each former member who enters the tour cycle: Meav, Lynn, Alex, in the Fall though it was Susan who took The Voice and Mairead C Dulaman.
In the beginning Scarborough Fair was performer in Dublin not The Voice so as Alex came in Lynn would return to Scarborough Fair. Same thing happens with Dulaman as Alex has it next when Lynn departs. Alex also performed Newgrange substituting it for Mairead Carlins absence. Other songs were dropped like Nella Fantasia as Alex continued The Voice..

I was lucky enough to have the April show Emerald Lineup with Lynn doing The Voice which was breathtakingly beautiful!

Speaking of Decade lineups did you happen to catch a show
with Lynn doing The Voice? Or another show with Alex doing Dulaman...Alex and Lynn doing Si Do Maheimo I?  🤩

@dbbii
That's pretty impressive!
Did you see different lineups for X / Decade?
You've seen everyone. So who is on your Mt Rushmore of CW (i.e. pick one violinist & 3-4 singers)?

I love Toy Waltz especially since the music video although my favorite would have to be I Saw Three Ships just for it being the song I imagined since I did this song in a Men's choir every December. It's different tone, it's praising that it's Christmas Day, it's something fresh for Celtic Woman tied with Toy Waltz for newness!

Toured 2023. Canceled / Re: New album?
« on: January 19, 2023, 09:39:37 AM »
The current 2 done are strong. May it Be and Black is the Color which I didn't like least that I like. Infact I don't think you can call both rearrangements for the only principal thing on both except the recorded one being a Susan solo is them being a capella driven and both songs original were solos now are in group.

Gavin's rearrangements were evolved to modern time! They're energy is so energetic and yet so beautiful and charming at the same time!
As much as I be curious to see if Gavin could of continued that thread to other legacified celtic woman songs maybe it was the right amount what was done.

Perhaps the best for Toole be continuing taking solos and turning them into group versions like proven both did.. In 2014 Si Do Maheimo I a Meav solo was turned to such a phenomenal duet dance choreography piece never recorded. It's already been done with Emerald with She Moved Thru The Fair!🤪

I'd never thought I'd see the day where I say this..but I love having new songs!

Which should come first?  The new album or the Tour?

Does it even matter.. There is something quite ecstatic of a tour being first and not knowing anything for new songs and having it's power thrown at you to your hearts for the 1st time! Isle of Hope did just that! Then you have Voices of Angels Tour which is exciting of itself but that's a whole different subject being it's the first tour completely everything rearranged 😀!! When VOA CD came out I held on to it without a single ounce of knowing it! I even disliked many of the rearrangements for couple weeks because it was so new and that I couldn't just sing along just yet! ;D Oh the chills of seeing Eabha and Susan and Mairead taking Mo Ghile Mear in full choreography power in 2017 Live at the beginning of the VOA Tour for the very first time!!😵 I'll never forget that a really new Era that truly was for Celtic Woman!

It would be hard to tell if I needed them most sure if this was in the beginning w/o The Original show, A New Journey (especially) and Song's from the Heart then yep probably wouldn't known them to the degree and impact those 3 earlier shows had and to our lives! One way I love that this direction is more storytelling it is like Celtic Woman as a Holiday Hallmark Card.

This was indeed way better than Postcards from Ireland you may say Toy Waltz and Silent Night made it's own new direction turn setting them apart from Postcards from Ireland style that was well more dramatic. I Saw Three Ships is fantastic but you can take from it that the horns and instrumental is the power here. Celtic Woman has always been either the the vocals the power or an equal slice of both take Going Home from Ancient Land as a perfect example or Home For Christmas as my most Grandiose of wow!

As a fan since it's humble beginning I wouldn't pay much attention or critique on that for for me as long as there's new songs, new albums, former cast revisits, new members new shows then I'm one happy camper!  :D
