Title: How many shows / meet and greets have you been to?

Ya Tom my counts are not to bad either considering I don't travel to go to shows they are within 150 miles or I don't go so they have to be in Wisconsin or I have gone to Minn. for 2 shows and most time I only get one show a year there were 2 years I did get 2 shows but that's been a long time ago. I have met most of the girls and several times had stagedoor M&G had a blast with Lisa L and Mairead N one time out by the bus's they loved my granddaughter I had brought along for her 5th birthday and she is now 9 years old and has met 6 of the girls and has only been to 2 shows she has started her own wall of Fame with her pictures of her with the girls and some signed photos

One show I had gone to we had M&G before the show and the girls got to meet my granddaughter that I had brought along it was her 5th birthday so all during the show the girls teased her by playing up to her Mairead N would come across the stage and stop right in front of her and point her bow at her and when Lisa L and Chloe started a song out in the theater and played with people Lisa L came and picked up my granddaughter and was going up and down the isles with her and when they were going up on stage Chloe walked by her and beeped her nose. Then after the show people were asking us if that was all planed and then we met up with Lisa l and Mairead N out by the bus and we talked for 15 mins or so was the greatest M&G show and Stage door M&G My granddaughter has all her pictures of her and the girls all framed and hung up in her room

Those are some impressive counts, everyone!

I've had to make up for lost time.

I can't even imagine what my numbers would have been like had I started going to live shows earlier instead of just enjoying the DVDs. I didn't quite have the same budget when I was in university, so I probably would have spaced them out more.

My Chloë and Celtic Woman numbers are definitely going to go up this year (probably 3 Chloë shows and a hopefully 3 CW shows if I can get to one on the Home for Christmas tour ... might be 4 depending on what the highly speculative CW summer surprise turns out to be). Hopefully I get to see Amy again at least once this year and Lisa Kelly as well. I'm really hoping I can see CaraNua. I'm sensing another busy year, starting this weekend!

It's looking like Hayley might make me fly to Asia to see her. Lol. Probably not going to happen this year unless I have to go there for another reason and she just happens to be performing there in the same place at the same time.

I’ve been to 10 shows so far, with 11 coming up in 8 days now. The only members I haven’t seen yet are Orla, Hayley, and Deirdre. I’ve met Susan, both Maireads, Lisa L, Lynn, Meav, Tara, and Eabha.

I've been to four Celtic Woman shows, and each one was incredible. The Celtic Woman members I've seen perform live are: Mairead Nesbitt, Susan, Chloe, Lisa Lambe, Lynn, Alex, Mairead Carlin, Eabha, and Tara. They're all so talented!

Yes, I was nuts. Lots of frequent flyer miles used. Hey, a lot of these were donations to PBS, so there's a tax deduction (ha ha).

Up thru 2012, when you had a M&G, there were only 2 girls at it. After a lot of effort, I have several things (T-shirt, photos) signed by all 4 of the girls on that year's tour.

It was a lot of fun there for a couple years. Obviously, part of it was you got to spend a couple minutes with whoever was at the M&G. In my case, they eventually remembered me. Certain girls seemed to really love meeting their fans.

One of my favorite stories concerns Chloe. Over the years, my daughter when to a number of shows with me. (OK, granted a couple were New York & Red Rocks) At a lot of the shows, Chloe would remember to ask about her. Last year, my daughter graduated from College. I was at one of Chloe's shows a week before graduation. I asked Chloe if she would sign a card for my daughter. She wrote a great personal message, gave me a T-shirt and CD for her. That's one of the reasons I, and a lot of other people, fell in love with CW. Yes, the music is unreal, but some are the performers.

I have no idea how many shows I've been to or who I saw at each of them. I know I've seen most of the current and past members and met a lot of them at over 15 or so M&Gs, coffee shops or other places.

I know I was in two minds of going to a show in Cincinatti on Sunday several years ago as it was a 7-8 hour drive and I had no other shows or anything else to do. I had a reasonable seat on the aisle stage right (row C I think), but I had already seen the show several times that year - it seemed a long way to go for another viewing.

Anyway I went.

Remember when they used to come down into the audience and dance or sit on somebody's lap, well it happened to be my turn. Susan kindly spent some time on my lap. I guess that was when she decided she liked Antony better than me!

It actually nearly happened another time but Susan was absolutely stunned when someone from my row actually walked out right past her as she was standing there singing. She just corpsed.

So one more category to add to your statistics - number of times sat on!

The songs where they used to come into the audience were great! One year I was kinda over CW. I had said I wasn't going to travel as much -- I'd stay local. Anyway, I was in Lakeland, FL. Had a front row pit seat on one end. The person next to me left after the first couple of songs (idiot!). Lisa Lambe was on my side for the intro to TAR. She came and sat down next to me. I feel in love all over again!

I went to see Chloe on Sunday in Duluth, GA. Once I got a minute when I got back home, I thought I would update my list of shows. Her Sunday night show was my 100th CW/Lisa/Chloe show! And they were all in person! I don't even want to think about what this cost me, but it was worth every penny.

I have met all the girls except Orla and Hayley

Some recent milestones for me:
- Fort Myers, Florida in 2022 was my 25th Celtic Woman group show and also my 50th Celtic Woman related show!
- The evening show with Chloë in Duluth, GA in December 2021 was the 25th time I saw a Celtic Woman performer (or choir member) perform separately from the group
- Sarasota, Florida in 2022 was the 25th time I've seen Tara perform in person. I've now seen Tara more times than any other performer. Ever! Sarasota was also the 20th time I've seen Megan perform.

It is interesting to read all your stories about the concerts!
I have never met the girls, but i have been in 4 Celtic Woman shows. Believe (2012), Destiny (2016), Voices of Angels (2017) and Ancient Land 2019. So I've seen perform live: Mairead N., Mairead C., Chloe, Lisa L., Susan, Tara, Éabha and Megan. I hope they will have a tour in Europe again soon!

What does everyone think. Should High Kings concerts count as "Celtic-Woman-related" concerts?
Same question for High Kings CDs and DVDs.

Some points in favor:
- The High Kings (including multiple of their current members), have opened for Celtic Woman on tour.
- Both groups have tracks on the A Celtic Family Christmas album (although they don't perform together on any of those songs on the album).
- Both groups had David Downes as a musical director for several years.

Points against:
- As far as I know, no High Kings members have ever been in the Celtic Woman choir, so they were basically 2 separate groups that performed at the same concerts for a little while and shared a label.
- If you have everything The High Kings have ever done but the only other thing in your "solo" collection is Lisa Kelly's solo album, is that a Celtic Woman related collection or just a High Kings collection? 🤣
- If we start counting any person or group that's ever performed with Celtic Woman as "related" material, the scope of this might get out of hand. They recorded some songs with Chris De Burgh, so is all of Chris De Burgh's stuff Celtic-Woman-related then?

Other thoughts:
- It feels like the shows, albums, and DVDs of guests, such as Rebecca Winckworth and Oonagh, should be included are Celtic-Woman-related.
- The things Colm Keegan recorded with Celtic Thunder feel like they should be related because he was in the choir (and on the Songs from the Heart DVD). And likewise, if you went to a CT show with Colm in it, it's probably a CW-related show. But if you're a CT super-fan and saw Celtic Thunder 300 times and Celtic Woman 3 times, that seems like it would really de-values support of more closely related CW performers and and their work.
- We could start differentiating related-vs-unrelated content based on someone's reason for attending a show or buying an album/DVD. For example, if I buy an obscure album Méav was on because Méav was in Celtic Woman, it's a "related" album, but if I buy a High Kings album because I like the High Kings, that's not related? That introduces problems associated with subjectivity.
- Does every Secret Garden album that contains a song that Celtic Woman eventually performed count as Celtic Woman related too, because Secret Garden is the source of a lot of Celtic Woman's best songs? I think no.

In the thread about CD / DVD collections, I've tried to differentiate a little between primary works and "fringe" works (http://www.celticwomanforum.net/index.php?topic=371.msg867#msg867). Essentially, there's a distinction between the works an artist contributed significantly (especially albums/DVDs they released on their own, or in a large number of tracks such as Celtic Heart) vs works where the CW-related artist only appears in a few tracks. But even that isn't a sufficient way to classify some of these items. Also, using the "fringe" distinction for CW-related shows doesn't work well: getting to some of those shows is tough and travelling to them is expensive. That should count for something.

I've rambled enough.

What are your thoughts?

CWrazy Tom made a comment that got me thinking. He said he went to a show in Fort Myers, FL.

Back in 2009 my daughter and I went to a show in Fort Myers. At that time, she was a Junior in High School. Show was a Thursday night. My concern was she would miss school on Friday, and that causes lots of grief with the school. Oh no, she said. There is a college (Florida Gulf Coast University) in Ft Myers. As long as we go on a tour as a potential student, then it's an excused absence. (I knew I was going to be in trouble!)

Anyway, we had front row tickets and a M&G. The Meet & Greet was with Chloe and Mairead. My daughter was really shy but Chloe looked up at her and asked what her favorite song was. My daughter told her. Chloe said "I saw you singing along". From that point on, Chloe was her favorite. We met her a number of times including at Radio City where my daughter and Chloe talked about Broadway shows.

I am blown away by how many shows you all have been to! :o You guys are my heroes! I could only hope that they get some special guests for a few shows next year, so I can see some of the former CW in person for the first time myself.
