Mary Bee (Mary Brierly) is a singer based in Los Angeles. She's originally from Rehoboth, MA. There she started her first band, "Aubergine" with her best friends in high school. She then sang in Providence, RI with Ben Pilgrim in his band, "The Free Union" where Ben gave her the nickname "Mary Bee."

Albums

Fiesole
- Her first solo full length release
- 2010
- Producer David Gonzalez
- Here's the link to the album Fiesole on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/4g6vPBTM6iOe4HyBPvQZ29
- Some of the songs do have rap portions.
- I normally don't care for rap, but her voice is so pretty, I make an exception for this one.
- This is very different than some of her more recent music, but I enjoy it.

Blueprints
- 2015
- Studio EP
- More pop and less hip hop than Fiesole
- I really like this one, especially the track On A Sunday
- Here's the link to the album Blueprints on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/6okphBXcMvaJoki5aofteQ

Mary Christmas
- 2016

Harmony Bee Vol 1
- 2017
- Recorded in her home studio
- Mary's self-harmonization is the focus of this album
- She loves harmony and she layers her own harmony quite a bit when she live streams her practices

Tours and Noteable Performances:

Mary has performed live on the east and west US coasts, as well as Europe and Central America.

Highlight performances include Tanglewood, Sound Session Festival, Foo Fest & The Sundance Film Festival.

Mary guest starred alongside B.J. Novak (NBC’s The Office) in Jonathan Katz’s (Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist) ‘Explosion Bus’.

In 2016, she toured her Blueprints EP during the summer in the US. She performed with Kate Steinway and Dani W (the Ukeladies), ending in a tour finale concert in her hometown of Rehoboth, MA with Kate Steinway & Chloe Agnew!

In 2017, she joined Kate Steinway on the Wayfaring Woman tour of West Coast Wine Country. She also did a tour of Hawaii that year, with her Ukeladies trio (Mary, Kate, and Dani).

Mary is currently preparing for a two month tour through seven countries in Europe. While on her tour she will also be filming her very first Web Series called Finding Harmony where she will be meeting with artists in different countries, getting to know them & collaborating on a song with each artist ... singing together in harmony. <3

Awards:

She has been featured in many national & local magazines including Music Connection & The Phoenix, where she won ‘Best Female Vocalist’ for her work on Fiesole.

Just over a year ago, Mary Bee set out on an adventure to Europe called "Finding Harmony." The first stop on her journey was Ireland (just a few weeks before I arrived on my trip to see Ancient Land at Johnstown Castle)!

The web-docu series follows singer and host, Mary, as she makes friends with artists in different countries. She gets to know them, collaborates on a song or two with each artist, and they sing together in harmony. The Series focuses on the love of music, and friendships grown during collaboration.

Her goal is to inspire and eventually, tangibly contribute to music programs around the world.

Season #1 finished airing a few months ago and I turned out really well! I'm so proud of her and it's an honor to support her.

You can enjoy her web series on YouTube and also on Facebook.

Mary sometimes performs on Tuesdays on Twitch from about 6-9 PM Eastern. She sings some songs she knows and often has fun trying songs she doesn't. She takes requests and has fun attempting new songs on the fly. She plays a bit of guitar but her incredible voice and warm aura of joy are definitely the highlights.

Her streams aren't formatted like formal concerts: it's more like a musical hangout where you get to interact with her, listen to her try things, and enjoy her lovely personality.

Recently, she's started collaborating with musicians from Musiversal, like James Holt. James makes piano-based backing tracks for her and they're really good!

She takes requests and it's less like a formal concert than it is a musical hangout.

You can follow her year and click the notification bell so you know when she goes live:

She's usually on for at least a couple of hours. Feel free to drop in any time and listen to her sing!

She sometimes posts recent shows so you can hear what the shows are like.

Her Twitch channel even has a clip of one of her collaborations with Chloë last year:

Mary Bee released a spooky and pretty new track in preparation for Halloween:

Haunt Me

The best place to get indie music (except directly from the artist), is on Bandcamp during Bandcamp Friday, when 100% of the proceeds from purchases go to the artist(s) you purchased from!
