My number one regret of missed shows is that because my first one was on the Destiny tour, I could have been seeing Mairead Carlin live for two years prior to that. Looooove her so much and seriously cannot get enough of that jaw-droppingly gorgeous voice of hers! She's my favorite singer on the entire planet and yes I've seen her live 9 times at this point, but I could have seen her live even more.

Going along with that, if I had seen Mairead more times, then I also would have seen Susan more times and would have seen Lynn and/or Lisa Lambe. I would have loved all of that!

I've seen everything of Eabha, Tara and Megan, so no missed shows to regret with any of them.

I do regret that during the Voices of Angels tour, when we went to Colorado to visit my relatives and see the show with them, we didn't do proper research. My relatives suggested that we go to the show in Pueblo, about a 45 minute drive from where they live. The night before that show was Red Rocks, about an hour and a half drive from where they live, so absolutely do-able. We didn't realize until it was too late that Red Rocks was a really big deal and that we should have picked that one. I'm very much hoping for a show there during the Ancient Land tour so we can fix that mistake!

If I don't get to a Christmas show this year, I will probably regret that. But the closest one is an 8 hour drive and flights are expensive. Dangit, I need to figure out what to do with that!

Of the older lineups of the group, the main regret for Gregg and I is that we never saw Lisa Kelly live. She was our favorite for a long time until Mairead Carlin came in and blew our minds. There were probably opportunities for us to see Lisa that we didn't even know about because we weren't paying enough attention. There were maybe two or three times over the years where we knew Celtic Woman was coming to a Minneapolis area venue, but we would look up the lineup of the group and see that Lisa was on maternity leave and decided to pass on the show. We probably should have gone to those, I'm sure we would have loved them.

Gregg wanted me to add on here also that his top regret is that we didn't go to the show when Mairead Carlin and Lynn Hilary were touring together. He says he probably would have fainted, being unable to handle that much beauty. Lol

By the way, I keep telling Gregg he should join the forum and post his own thoughts, but he keeps saying he'll just ask me what you all are saying and tell me what he wants to say. C'mon Gregg, get on here!

Celtic Woman / Re: Gavin Murphy
« on: October 01, 2018, 11:45:25 PM »
This is a very interesting topic and post. I have my own opinions on this subject to write up. It's way too late on a work night for me to try to compose all my thoughts now. Suffice it to say for now that I think it all comes down to each fan's personal opinion and preference as to which of the two they like better. My preference between the two is Gavin Murphy. To put it simply right now (and to be elaborated on later), I'm a fan of everything from the original Celtic Woman album through Emerald. I'm a super, mega, crazy, ultra fan of Destiny, Voices of Angels, Homecoming and Ancient Land. I don't think it's a coincidence that the division for me occurs at the point where Gavin Murphy took over.

I really need to click post now before I stay up way too late writing, but I do want to say that these are my opinions only and I'm not trying at all to offend anyone. I firmly believe in each person's right to their own opinion on every subject. 😃

I like your idea of flipping them so that we get the lovely color pictures most of the time.

I've never actually listened to Celtic Thunder so I don't have thoughts about them in particular, but I would say go to the show if you think you'll enjoy it to the extent that it's worth the money and time spent. There have been shows that Gregg has gone to without me because I think I wouldn't be into it so then it's not worth spending the money. That's how I look at it.

Yeeeessssss! I recall there being a post on instagram not too long ago from the jeweler that made the headpieces where they said those headpieces were for the upcoming US tour. I was thinking that would be today's announcement, but hopefully we'll find out soon!

Ancient Land / Re: Ancient Land DVD recording
« on: September 30, 2018, 12:05:30 AM »
I agree, it'll definitely be interesting to watch it with the perspective of having been there for the filming. I had a couple of thoughts that will be cool to see how they edit for the DVD. One was the transition from Follow Me to Mná na hÉireann. They dance during Follow Me and it ends with the guys dipping the ladies backwards. During night one of filming, they had to hold that pose for a solid minute while the drone was filming it before they started into Mná na hÉireann. I bet they'll make it a very fast transition on the DVD. The other thought was about how they'll edit The Enchanted Way. This is an incredibly fun song with Tara and the four dancers. It went much smoother on night one just because they had a dry stage. On night two, the stage was so wet that they were slipping. The video from night one will be great, but the crowd was more vocal on night two during this song in particular, giving a lot of love to the dancers. I wonder if they'll mix the video of night one with the crowd appreciation of night two. That'll be interesting to see.  And then of course if we're in the crowd footage, we were in the same section both nights but second row the first night and front row the second night.

I really hope they keep all of the songs in the DVD! If they do, Mairead will have two solos in the first act and the others will have their solos split between act one and act two.

This is so cool! I'd really like to go to this at some point. I really like the little song clips they have on their website and that goddess picture is epic!

Ancient Land / Re: Ancient Land Album: Reviews and Thoughts
« on: September 29, 2018, 01:14:56 AM »
I listened to Ancient Land all the way through five times today. I love this album so much! I think it's so incredibly beautiful! I honestly haven't noticed the instrumentals overpowering the vocals the way a few of you have. I put my vote in for my top four songs and it was really difficult to choose. I could easily select any of the album's songs to be top four. Listening to this album today kept bringing up thoughts of being in the audience at Johnstown Castle just two weeks ago. What an amazing experience!
