There are quite a few concerts I regret not going to. Aside from Songs from the Heart, I think this one hurts the most. I really wish I had been able go see this one live. Next time...

That's good to know.

I've actually never sent anything in before. I just bring what I can to the Meet and Greets. Usually something small but meaningful, so it doesn't take up too much space on the tour bus, but fills their hearts for a while.

Aww. I love seeing her adorable off-stage quirkiness. She's quite a good tour guide.

I like having "mark unread" buttons for the posts. Sometimes I need to finish reading them later and marking it unread helps me remember what I haven't finished looking at yet.

I get to go to two of them: London and Detroit on back to back nights.

The Meet and Greet is in Detroit. ;D

I've sadly only ever seen her live once (last year at her show in Peachtree City). It was quite an experience and the setting for the amphitheater was ridiculously pretty.

I wasn't quite in the state of mind to do things (anything) when Songs from the Heart was recorded. I don't think we'll ever see something quite like that again, but if they do a show like that now at a spectacular outdoor venue, I think I'd have to find a way to go, no matter what.

Also, the gaming on Celtic Woman Forum is so popular it's distracting from the actual content. It's great from a community and interaction standpoint, but it's gotten a bit out of control over there.

The venue is expected to be The Southern Ground Amphitheatre in Fayetteville, GA.

Lisa's previous shows were at The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City, near the Lisa Kelly Voice Academy. But on account of management changes, it will be at a different venue this year.

Caranua / All About CaraNua

Now that we finally have a forum with a dedicated CaraNua board, I figured I'd have a post to get everyone up to speed that isn't familiar with CaraNua yet.

CaraNua consists of Alex Sharpe, Lynn Hilary, and Lisa Nolan (who took over for Edel Murphy). Alex and Lynn were former principal singers in Celtic Woman of course, and Edel was formerly in the Celtic Woman choir.

They all have outstanding voices and together they produce some of the most gorgeous, crystal clear harmony I have ever heard.

What does CaraNua mean?

'CaraNua' is Irish/Gaelic for 'New Friend'. The symbol from Newgrange for us represents three voices coming together as one, 3 lives, 3 generations. We also represent this by using three metals on the ornamentation on our dresses that mark significant passages in history; copper, bronze and iron. What is the CaraNua logo?

Our logo is an ancient Celtic design known as a 'Triskele' from the neolothic and mesolithic eras, found on stones in and around Newgrange, Co. Meath, here in Ireland. Newgrange is over 5,000 years old, dating back to before the pyramids in Egypt. To find out more about Newgrange, have a look at their website below; (Source: https://www.caranuamusic.com/single-post/2016/08/21/What-does-CaraNua-mean)

History

CaraNua started showing up on social media in July 2016.

Here's an early promo video / medley they did:

Initially, they were only doing corporate and private events (functions, weddings, parties, etc.).

CaraNua's public debut was at Connect16 in Ireland, on September 28, 2016. They performed:
- Dulaman
- The Parting Glass
- You Raise Me Up

In April 2017, CaraNua recorded an album called Favorite Hymns with Jason Tonioli, which was released on Friday, November 17, 2017: https://tonioli.com/product/favorite-hymns-caranua-jason-tonioli/

The harmony and piano arrangements are outstanding!

On January 16, 2018, CaraNua performed their debut US concert, New Wings, with Jason Tonioli, at Weber State University in Utah. Those who were able to go were very impressed!

CaraNua recorded a second Favorite Hymns album with Jason while they were in Utah for the concert. The album is expected to release by the end of 2018.

Before they left Utah (it was a very productive trip), they recorded a cover of A Million Dreams, from The Greatest Showman. The cover was inspired by Evermore, a unique park under development in Utah. The video was a success, accumulating over 60,000 views in a matter of weeks and was subsequently released on iTunes. Here's the link to the video: https://youtu.be/bxae4qlTpg0

It is rumored (far from confirmed) CaraNua is considering doing a tour in the fall of 2018.

I LOVE this video!

Great backstage / rehearsal footage (and sneak peak of the new merch).

I love the way "Homeland" sounds. It's warm, catchy, soothing, and has a very effective use of harmony. It's got sort of a Celtic-country crossover sound.

I'm very excited for all the new songs and to hear this live.

By the way, remember how Celtic Woman members were mysteriously in a recording studio a few weeks ago? Well, it sounds like Homeland in this video was a studio recording ;)
