Postcards from Ireland / Re: What we know so far...!

Do we know if there's any different editions of the cd that has any bonus tracks yet? I know they've done that in the past.

October 2007 I think, in North Charleston, SC. A New Journey. One of Lynn's first concerts and I knew Lisa K was pregnant before it was announced online.

Celtic Woman / Re: Eabha leaving Celtic Woman! Chloë is back!

Eabha's Facebook post starts here https://www.facebook.com/eabhacelticwoman/photos/pcb.2589909681062865/2589909521062881/?type=3&theater. She says she's planning on a short break so she can focus on writing her own music.

I'm never that surprised when somebody leaves anymore. Their tour schedule isn't easy.

Super glad Chloe and Susan are stepping in!

Facebook update from Mairead.

Just wanted to give you all an update. I’m out of hospital walking around and taking it easy. Thank you for your love and kindness over the last few days. I’ve read every single one of your comments and they’ve helped me so much. I love you all x

Other Musicians / Chanticleer
« on: October 28, 2019, 06:03:53 AM »
I saw Chanticleer the other day. For those that don't know, it's a group of twelve men, countertenors included, who sing a wide range of music a capella. The first half of the show was 16th century works and a few others that fit. For me, the coolest thing they sang was Edvard Grieg's Ave maris stella. The second half was a lot of traditional music and some 20th century stuff, including... Holst's arrangement of I Love My Love. For those that don't know, that is the same song as Meav's A Maid in Bedlam.

Prayers for a speedy recovery for Mairead.

Wishing Mairead all the best for a quick recovery!

It is quite impressive that Susan can fly out on show day and be all ready to go with the music and choreography by showtime. These ladies never cease to amaze me!

Well, that's what the good professional singers know how to do, and we all know how good Susan is! Same deal with people switching parts last minute and Tara stepping in to sing.  It's not easy.

Caranua / Re: Celtic Dreaming - Writeup

Got it in the mail today.

The arrangements are really good. Lynn's got a lot of skill there. None of the songs on the album sound anywhere close to the normal versions of those songs.

So, looking at it, I think condensing The Shows section a bit could help. My idea would be to condense them by years. For example, do a forum for the shows and albums from 2005 through  '09, 10-14, 15-17, and then the new ones could have separate sections of their own.

Maybe keep the Celtic Woman forum, and the musicians and choir forum. Then have a soloists forum.

HomeComing on Tour / Columbia Review
« on: March 26, 2018, 12:10:01 PM »
I just copy pasted this from the other site.

So I'm looking at the tour setlist as I write this.

First thing, I saw Alex! Woohoo!

The differences I see from the list is that Alex sang The Voice in place of From a Distance. So I've read on here that her version is phenomonal. Holy cow, does she throw herself into it. I think her version is my favorite. She did sing She Moved Thru the Fair, and did quite a bit of choreography in it.

Also, it is *not* Wild Mountain Thyme. It's Wild Mountain Side. I'm going to be replaying that one a lot when they release the recording of it.

The choreography was a lot better this time around than most of what I've seen out of them. It was a lot more like what I saw the last time I saw Susan when she was doing her solos, and everyone was doing it.

Also, I don't know what happened, but the sound balance was horrendous on Amazing Grace. It sounded terrible, and I know it wasn't the girls' fault. It was just completely off with the mix of their voices.

The new ceili song is so much fun!

The other bits:

Of the shows I've seen Mairead in, tonight was by far the best. She was phenomenal, and a lot better than the other times I've seen her.

Eabha seemed a lot more comfortable and confident tonight than the other time I saw her. Also, it seems they've finally figured out what to do with her voice.

Tara is completely different from Mairead N, and that's a good thing. Also, she just exudes sheer glee that she gets to do what she's doing, kind of like, "I get to be part of this? REALLY?!" Yup, you are good enough to be in this! She's like that all the time.

Alex. Dang. I forgot about her stage presence. And how it seems like she's singing directly to you.

It hadn't been promoted pretty much anywhere, by anyone, that I saw. I only knew about it because I checked celticwoman.com. So they didn't sell many tickets. I hope they come back.  ???

Celtic Woman / Re: How many shows / meet and greets have you been to?
« on: March 17, 2018, 04:08:33 PM »
Five shows so far.

Chloe 3 with CW and twice with the Atlanta Pops
Lynn 2
Mairead N. 5
Orla 1
Lisa K. 1
Lisa L. 3
Alex 1
Susan 3
Mairead C 2
Eabha 1

Supposedly
Alex 2 and then
Eabha 2, Mairead C. 3, and Tara 1. I'm seeing them Tuesday.

I've only done one meet and greet, with Lisa L, Susan, and both Maireads.
