I have read that using a Humidifier in your home helps fight the flu Virus and maybe the same for the new Crona virus a dry house the virus can live on stuff for 24+ hours but a house that has above 45% humidity levels the virus can only live about a hour. It also makes your home feel warmer with more humidity in it so maybe you can turn down the heat and save some money. This is why all these virus's come out in the winter is because of lack of humidity and the best type of humidifier to use is a Evaporative Humidifier  The Mist ones leave a white dust all over your home and it's nasty as it settles on everything windows and all even inside your cabinets I learned this first hand. Hope this little bit of info will help some stay healthy

This is a study by the National Institution for Occupation Safety and Health (NIOSH)

When humidity levels were at 23%, 70 to 77% of flu virus particles were still able to cause an infection an hour after coughing. Raising humidity levels to 43% caused only 14% of flu particles to be able to cause an infection.

Additionally, high humidity was just as effective on small flu particles as large ones. That’s key because small flu particles tend to hang in the air for a longer time, while large particles fall to the ground.

Using a humidifier during the winter months can raise the humidity level in your home and combat the risk of a flu outbreak. Keep reading below for some tips and tricks on how to monitor and improve your indoor humidity.

Late reply, but yes a humidifier helps. And even if you aren't sick, it helps with your house being less dry inside, especially with winter coming.
