The Gothard Sisters will be performing at the Iowa Irish Festival (https://iowairishfest.com/) in downtown Waterloo, Iowa on the weekend of August 2-4, 2019. In this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvUCp0mbNfs), they say it is one of the best Irish festivals in the country.
I've never attended before, but it looks like the festival takes up several blocks of downtown Waterloo, and there will be lots of famous bands performing there (https://iowairishfest.com/category/music-dance/) there. Some of the ones that stood out to me are:
- The Gothard Sisters - I love most of their work, especially The Three Coins (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTUNeY5q8CQ)
- The High Kings - the brother of Celtic Woman, they are part of the Celtic Collections family and were developed by Dave Kavanagh (https://www.facebook.com/celticwoman/photos/a.164250352837/10156284943882838/?type=3&theater)
- Gaelic Storm - I remember liking them way back in college; I had the album How are we getting home? (2004)
Tracie and Gregg: it's within driving distance of you! While The High Kings and Gaelic Storm are both coming to your city in August, this festival might be your best chance to see the Gothard Sisters this year.
