Wow! I'm very glad to have Mairéad Carlin back, but I am in complete shock right now.
To be honest, I'm not sure whether or not Hannah is actually leaving. If Mairéad is just returning for the 20th anniversary concert filming, then I'd assume Hannah would return for the tour.

A little late to the party, but here's Lisa performing Amhrán na bhFiann just before kick-off at Ireland's recent EURO 2024 qualifier against France: https://youtu.be/61dZ2Cx7UuY

France may have won and September's a long time to wait for the Irish to get their revenge, but at least this anthem didn't dampen anyone's spirits  ;D

How about this? Someone will probably need to scan the 2023 calendar for better quality but it's still pretty good otherwise  :)

Would anyone bother recording the Holiday Edition of the Postcards from Ireland special and PMing me a Google Drive file of it afterwards?

My assumptions are that it will probably be a mix of songs featured on the regular special and those from the recent EP  :)

I Saw Three Ships is probably my favourite track out of the four (The Toys' Waltz does come a close second, though). Postcards from Ireland never really gave Muirgen to show off her "operatic" side, so the fact she does so here is definitely a big plus to the whole EP.

I guess all I need now are the music video for The Toys' Waltz and some photos/videos from the A Christmas Symphony tour when they come...

A Christmas Symphony Tour 2022 / The Toys' Waltz
« on: November 04, 2022, 08:17:14 AM »
The Christmas Cards from Ireland EP has now released, and with it comes a song entitled The Toys' Waltz (which we're possibly going to get a music video for judging by this Facebook post - https://www.facebook.com/celticwoman/videos/-new-musicceltic-woman-is-delighted-to-announce-the-release-of-the-new-ep-christ/1157796211486042/).

The description of the EP lists this as an original song, but I'd like to make a few things clear: while it IS an original song that was written and composed by Daragh O'Toole, it wasn't written especially for CW. Rather, it is the third of four movements in his Ballymun Lullaby suite, which comprises four original songs for choir and orchestra, and was first recorded by Ron Cooney's Ballymun Music Programme alongside the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Cór na nÓg conducted by David Brophy back in 2009. There is a 2011 documentary film entitled Ballymun Lullaby which looks at the making of the EP (unfortunately, I've had no luck finding the full thing online, but there are trailers and clips available on YouTube).

So, what are your thoughts on CW's version? I liked it a lot. The harmonies are really good, and I was a little bit surprised but happy to hear Susan's voice on it as well.

Is important to note that Hannah is not featured in this EP; We'll have to wait more to hear her voice.

1 - The Toys’ Waltz
2 - O Holy Night
3 - I Saw Three Ships
4 - Silent Night
Any chance you could tell me who features on each track?

If I'm Not mistaken all the girls.
Is Chloë there?
