Lakeland is within the Tampa PBS sphere (WEDU).  In the past, they have offered M&G's at Lakeland, Tampa, St Petersburg and Sarasota.  I've talked to them -- they said nothing will be announced until their pledge drive in December.  They don't know where their seats are -- it's up to the venue.

I miss the old days when a M&G got you front row.

Since my local PBS station had no idea what was going on,I went ahead and bought a ticket for Lakeland (pit seats are always good!).   I already have several people joining me a couple days later in St. Pete.

On a somewhat unrelated note, do the girls get frequently "bus" miles?  At least here in Florida they seem to criss cross the state a couple times!!!

Celebration's on Tour / Re: Spoilers about the Celebration Tour

If you go back a couple years, Tommy Martin played the bagpipe with Anthony on certain songs.  Amazing Grace, for one.

So there was a thread from a while ago talking about your favorite Chloe photo.  This doesn't quite fit, because it's a Chloe AND Lisa photo.  I took the photo back in2011 on the Songs From the Heart Tour.  I think was the Orlando show.

Anyway, I went to the M&G at Lisa's concert this year and got both of them to sign it.

I made a donation.  I have a M&G ticket to see her on October 15 so it will be interesting to see what she says.

I only have a couple with LL.  The photo info says 2011.  I think this was in Milwaukee

So I got 20.

However, there's one that says show at Carnegie Hall.  How about Radio City Music Hall?

Does a Sneak & Greet count as a Meet & Greet?

My vote was for Chloe and Lisa K.  The main reason was they seemed to be the most friendly to the fans.  Yes, part of that may have been the early M&Gs after the show where you had a little more time.  LL was also outgoing.  Mairead N was friendly, but not as outgoing.  It's hard to get to "know" the current group when you only get 30 seconds.

I think I was in the 5th or 6th row on the first night.  I'm on the DVD in a couple of shots.

Lisa, Chloe, Lisa, Mairead.  I think my favorite line up

Ancient Land on Tour / Re: Red Rocks Writeup (May, 2019)

Red Rocks is one of, if not the, most iconic venue in the World.   It's hard to imagine walking out on stage with over 9000 people looking at you.  For some of the performers, this may have been the biggest audience they have ever been in front of.
And, you are correct, the ovation at the end of the Kesh Inn was amazing.  I think if it wasn't quite so cold, we may have seen an encore.  Two years ago, they did one. (Haven't Found What I'm Looking For).

I'd love to see the photo of the band/chorus they took at the end with the audience in the background.  You could tell they were having a blast.

I feel your pain about PBS.  The whole M&G thing has been a problem for a couple years now.

CW Musicians and Choir / Re: Thank You Ray

When I saw Ray's post about leaving to go to Come From Away, I thought that maybe this was something I should look into.

I had the change to see Come From Away on Sunday afternoon.  It was a touring show (and no, since it was in the US, Ray wasn't there!)

This was one of the best "Broadway-type" shows I've ever seen!  The band is in one corner of the stage, but they do come on stage with the rest of the cast for one or two numbers.  Bodhran, accordian, fiddle, Irish whistle, guitar, etc.  A couple of really upbeat songs, with an Irish feel to them.

I've now added going back to London to see the show (with Ray) to my bucket list.

Hopefully this works!

I dug up an old photo I had of Lisa & Chloe at a Meet & Greet.  I showed it to them at the show.  They had a discussion about when it taken.  They were trying to remember it based on the dresses.   I think it was February 4, 2011 in Orlando.   SFTH tour.

Chloe Agnew / Lakeland, GA
« on: April 01, 2019, 10:50:44 AM »
So I decided to go to Chloe's show Saturday night.  What the heck -- it's only a 4 hour drive.

I can't remember when I had such a good time.  The show itself was great (as always), but the M&G afterwards was the best one I have ever been to!

Lakeland is a small town where everyone seems to know everyone.  7 or 8 people came up to me and said "you aren't from around here, are you?"  This was said in a nice way.  People seemed amazed that I would drive that far to their little town to see a show.  Had lots of good conversations.

The M&G was held away from the venue.  One of the oldest families in town was the host.  They had a guest house on their property that Chloe and Dermot were staying in.  Attached to the guest house is a moderate size building where the M&G was held.  As a guess, it would hold about 100 people for a sit down dinner.  Couldn't have been more than 20 people at the M&G.  They had hors d'oeuvres; beer and wine.

The best part is Chloe and Dermot spent at least an hour at the M&G (OK, it was actually called a VIP reception).  Lots of great pictures/conversation!

If they do this again next year, there's no way I'm missing it.

The M&G I went to had maybe 20 people.  If you give each of them 1 minute, that's 20 minutes.  If the M&G starts at 7 and the show is at 7:30, it just doesn't work.  The girls still need a minute or two to get mic'd up, etc.
