Celtic Thunder has rescheduled their fall tour to 2022:

CELTIC THUNDER ‘IRELAND’ TOUR – DATES MOVE TO SPRING 2022

ALL PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED TICKETS ARE VALID FOR 2022 TOUR DATES

Due to the ongoing issues with the pandemic, the continued closure of the US border to Europe and the lengthy delays in processing the visas needed to tour and perform in the US, Irish Super-group Celtic Thunder has taken a decision to move its US and Canada “IRELAND” tour to Spring 2022. Show producer Sharon Browne cites current US Entry Restrictions for non-US residents as the main reason for moving the tour to 2022. All tickets sold for the 2020 and 2021 tour dates will be automatically transferred to the revised 2022 show dates.

As always, VIP & Soundcheck Party Passes will be available in select venues and will be available to purchase closer to the beginning of the tour, where Celtic Thunder Fan Club Members will have first opportunities to purchase during the presales process.

“Having closely monitored the current entry and visa restrictions over the past few uncertain months, and after discussion with our Promoters and Partners,  we have taken the unfortunate yet inevitable decision to postpone Celtic Thunder’s Ireland Tour to Spring 2022. Borders in the United States and Canada remain closed to travelers from Europe, and US Embassies overseas are not currently offering appointments for visa collection. The lack of any timeline for the reopening the borders or visa processing has left us with no alternative but to reschedule our tour of the USA and Canada to Spring 2022.” states Ms. Browne.

All tour dates announced for 2020 and 2021 will be transferred to Spring 2022, with ticket holders retaining their seat locations. For information and guidance on all ticketing matters, ticket holders should contact their original point of purchase.

The Celtic Thunder ‘Ireland’ Tour will be a Revue Show that combines years of Celtic Thunder hits and focuses on their most popular songs from their Irish and Celtic fan favorites. It’s going to be a fun and lively show with loads of songs you know to sing along with, that has has gained Celtic Thunder the mantle of Top World Music Act in Billboard four times over!

“We, like everyone else the world over, are impatient to get our lives back on track. Knowing that we will be out on the road again soon has kept us going over the past 18 months.  We are disappointed to have to postpone the dates once again, we cannot wait to get out and give our all, and to welcome our fans back to a Celtic Thunder show.” says Celtic Thunder soloist Ryan Kelly.

That's really bad news for a Celtic Woman Christmas tour as well...

I think I'm the only Ontario Thunderhead on here, but in case you know anyone that might be interested, they seem to have added a show at Casino Rama (Orillia, Ontario) on March 18. Presale starts January 6th.

I haven't seen an official announcement, but it could potentially be a DVD recording as they've recorded numerous DVDs there before.

Please do keep in mind that there will likely be some form of health measures still in place by that time, which could affect international travel or capacity at shows.

I've been a bit tied up with stuff recently and seem to have missed some changes.

Apparently Celtic Thunder postponed the second half of their spring tour.

It also seems both Ontario, Canada shows have been pulled from the tour list (in spite of capacity restrictions being lifted here for the fist time in 2 years around the start of March).

The one I have a ticket for (on St. Patrick's day, coincidentally) is still listed on the venue's website and I don't see a cancellation / postponement notice so... ? ? ? ? ? ?

Tour list including list of postponed shows (new dates to be announced):
https://www.celticthunder.com/tour/

Due to unforeseen Covid-19 related scheduling difficulties, Celtic Thunder is forced to move a portion of its Celtic Thunder Ireland Spring 2022 tour dates to Fall/ Winter 2022. While the first half of the Spring 2022 concerts will proceed as planned, the latter half are being postponed to later in the year. All tickets previously sold for these dates will be automatically transferred to the new show dates.

Got a postponement notice a few minutes ago (no new date announced yet). Anyone want to take bets it will get rescheduled to around the first weekend in December? Lol.

I went to the Celtic Thunder tour last night in Clearwater, Florida.  Some general comments -- not a review.

My first thought was whoever was producing this show was in charge of the DVD of Postcards from Ireland.  What I mean is there were a number of videos of Ireland playing behind the group during most of the songs..  In addition, I thought the sound mix was not great -- it was hard to understand the vocalists because of the volume of the band.

Stage was simply two platforms for the band.

This was, I think, the 3rd show on the tour.  They did say how great it was to be back in front of their fans again.

I did not buy a program, but they did several familar Irish songs.  Mo Ghile Mear, Caledonia, Danny Boy, Galway Girl, Streets of New York.  Interesting that they also did Isle of Hope.  The intro I thought was interesting.  Something like: While this song is about immigrating from Ireland, it's really a song about just about everyone in this County (meaning the US).  Just about everyone here had ancestors, and maybe even some of you, who came from someplace else. "

Oh yeah, and Ireland's Call has to be one of the greatest closing numbers of all time!!

Thanks for the report!

The Celtic Thunder show I was going to in Canada got postponed indefinitely due to restrictions at the time they had to make a call on the show (the restrictions have since been relaxed a bit).

The second half of the 2022 Celtic Thunder spring tour is being rescheduled for spring 2023.

https://www.celticthunder.com/tour/

After more than two years of delays and looking forward to welcoming you to a show, Celtic Thunder are forced to cancel our remaining 2022 “Celtic Thunder Ireland” tour dates in the U.S. and Canada. While we attempted to postpone these shows to Fall 2022, challenges in finding available slots at venues in a way that allows a viable tour itinerary, has meant that we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel these remaining dates. For all non-PBS ticket holders, refunds or credits are available at your point of purchase.

Celtic Thunder will be back on tour in the US & Canada Spring 2023. We will be touring a brand-new show and we are currently working on finalizing the itinerary, which will be announced in the coming months. We are endeavoring to route this new tour to include cities where we disappointed fans by cancelling the 2022 dates. Please bear with us a little while longer while we finalize these new concert dates.

For all Celtic Thunder fans who have pledged for tickets with their local Public Television station, Celtic Thunder will honor these tickets for their 2023 dates. We are working with each station to ensure that their member tickets are secure for the 2023 tour. Celtic Thunder would not exist in the US but for the support of Public Television and we are strongly committed to continuing our long-standing relationship with these stations. The funds that stations raise through pledge are vitally essential to their continued operation. We thank you for your support of both Public broadcasting and Celtic Thunder and ask you once more for your patience while we re-book our U.S. tour dates and cities.

If you check the CT website, it says the tour is rescheduled for Fall 2023. The pic also says :
New Music - New Show - New Format

https://www.celticthunder.com/tour/

I hadn't checked the CT site in a while because it's been pretty quiet.

Yeah, that note on their tour page is new. I checked it few weeks ago but didn't see much then.

So the CT website says North America Fall 2023. But if you do a little surfing, it looks like they started reserving some venues for Spring 2024.

Something doesn't add up. Hmm...

Yeah, I noticed those too when you mentioned the update on the tour.

My guess is they may have run into the same difficulties as Celtic Woman. We shall see.

Is it possible the tour will be split into two legs?? Unless those are some cancelled dates from '22.
Did they go from 5 guys to 4?? I could've sworn Colm returned.

That's a good theory about the cancelled dates. There seems to be a date in Mar '24 for Riverside, CA. That is the venue for my local PBS station, and it was definitely cancelled in '22. So that would mean new tour in 2023, and 'make ups' in early 2024??? IDK. You could be right.

I don't think Colm returned, although that would be great. I know why you say that because he gets a lot of mentions on their social media. And if you go to the Celtic Thunder website, there is a direct link to his personal website under "CT Radio". When he first left, he didn't get as many mentions on their websites like he does now.

The Celtic Thunder site is still indicating there's a fall 2023 tour coming, with details coming mid-summer 2023.

https://www.celticthunder.com/tour/

I have yet to find any venues posting any tickets for it.

CWFella2011 :
I stand corrected. It does look like Colm is back with CT. All his social media accounts say "Principal singer of Celtic Thunder". And apparently he did a StageIt concert with CT in March.

I didn't know he had returned. Wiki says it was in 2022. I just know 4 of them (w/o Colm) toured in the cancelled 2022 tour, and 4 of them (w/o Colm) are pictured for the planned 2023 tour. So I'm not sure if he's returned 100%, or "returned " like Susan returned to CW for Postcards.
