I saw Riverdance in Dublin, with Edel Murphy as the lead singer!

The show was fantastic and Edel sounded great!

Edel knew in advance I was coming and told me which stage door to wait at after the show so I could meet her. No stage and greet attempt has ever succeeded for me before, but this one looked really promising. I got out tonight the stage door pretty quick after the show. I saw a lot of performers come out. I actually met and got to take a picture with Tara, who played the pipes in the show. She was very sweet and chatted with me for a few minutes. She even took a few photos!

I waited and waited at the stage door. It started drizzling a bit. Didn't stop me. Eventually, people stopped coming out of the stage door. I still waited. After almost an hour and a half, I had to leave. I messaged Edel saying I really enjoyed the show but I must have missed her at the stage door. She replied that she looked for me when she came out, but I guess we missed each other somehow. I had a friend watching too but he didn't spot her either. Maybe she was bundled up in a goodies like me on account of the rain and we didn't recognize each other.

So, the stream continues. Despite my best efforts, no stage and greet has ever been successful for me.

This time,  I'm not giving up yet. I messaged Edel is there's another way I can meet her this week. Obviously if she says no, I'm not pursuing it further, but I have to try.

I'll see the same performance in few days.  Now I know to keep an eye out for Tara on stage, thanks!  I didn't know she plays pipes too, in addition to harp and violin.

I rushed back to the stage door tonight and I met Edel!!!

I got to chat with her for a few minutes. I got a photo with her and I got her to sign a picture too!

I also gave her a gift bag with a card and some snacks.  ;)

She was very sweet.

This makes Edel the first person I have EVER met at a stage door that I actually planned to meet at a stage door.

I am soooo happy tonight!

Lisa Lambe's show is tomorrow!

Edel is performing with Riverdance again this summer in Ireland.

For those that follow Tara Howley (who performs pipes and whistles in the show), is also back.

Riverdance is performing in Dublin at the Gaiety Theatre from June 17th to September 11th, 2022.

That may be of interest to those in the area for the Celtic Woman concerts in August.
