Good question. Either PAW-dee or PIE-dee might valid depending on the dialect / part of the country.
It Dublin, it's supposedly closer to PAW-dee (or PAH-dee). That's roughly how the Pá is pronounced in Pádraig.

It was announced today that Ronan is the new Celtic Thunder musical director, taking over from David Munro.

I got that email as well.
Buffalo is always one of the first to announce the Christmas tour, if there's going to be a show in Buffalo that year.
Tickets are available to series subscribers / members. I tend to just wait for regular tickets as I'm not going to any other shows at that theatre in Buffalo besides this one: the parking sucks and the traffic getting there sucks, among other things.
The way things are looking, this is going to be the only Celtic Woman show I actually get to see this year, so hopefully that lake effect snow stays away.
Funny side-note: their promo pic for this tour features Megan and Hannah. 😂

Fun fact about this album: several times, the introduction for the upcoming song is placed in the preceding track. For example, the introduction for Farewell is in the Caledonia track.

Here are some of the highlights of 2024 for us Celtic Woman fans...
Albums, DVDs, and Books
Celtic Woman 20 (20th Anniversary), recorded in 2023, released as a studio album and DVD in 2024. The 20th Anniversary production featured 4 of the original 5 members (all except for Orla). The originals were joined by Tara, Muirgen, and returning member Mairéad Carlin. It was also the debut for Emma Warren, who sang, played piano, and danced.[/i]
Celtic Thunder, featuring Ronan, released a DVD called Odyssey, followed by an album called The Live Experience.
Brian McGrane released a demo album as Engrane, called Sketches.
Ronan had a busy year, as he also released a digital EP (Guiding Light) with one track featuring Mairéad Carlin.
Amy Rivard released a few singles, including: Cuckoo for You, Fool to Love You, and I Still Believe In Love.
The Brave Collide relased a few singles: Free Fallin' and Chasing Cars. Brian also release a few singles: Ordinary People, and Ae Fond Kiss (with Laura Keegan, who used to be in the Celtic Thunder band and is married to Colm Keegan who used to be in the Celtic Woman choir).
Lynn released a book of poetry called Nettle Tea.
Overall, it was a pretty light year for releases.
Shows and Experiences:
The Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary show toured North America in the spring of 2024. The 78 show tour featured Emma, Mairéad Carlin, Muirgen, and Tara.
Celtic Woman also did a 17 show White Christmas symphony tour, which leaned heavily on new arrangements by current musical director Brian Byrne. Emma went on maternity leave, which opened the door for Lisa Lambe's shocking return, as a special guest on the White Christmas tour, after almost a decade away from the group.
Éabha ran her second annual Celtic World Forum in Balbriggan, Ireland. The packed lineup included Megan, Susan, Máiréad Nesbitt, Éabha, and Glenn Murphy. There was also a Christmas concert in Galway which included most of the usual suspects.
Máiréad Nesbitt was all over the place this year. She was part of the one-off Rock Me Amadeus show in Tampa, presented her Celtic Spells show in California, and teamed up with Alex Sharpe for a bunch of shows.
Alex toured with Jenny Oaks baker's Christmas tour.
Ronan once again toured with Celtic Thunder in 2024.
Mairéad Carlin appeared (briefly) in The Shamrock Tenors PBS special / DVD, which finally released, two and a half years after being recorded. I suspect she'll be on the album, but I'll have to wait until my copy arrives in the new year.
Brian McGrane and Chloë did a lot of concerts and also a lot of online shows on StageIt. They did quite a bit together as The Brave Collide. Chloë finally got to tour her 2019 album Reimagined. Brian performed with The Celtic Tenors on multiple tours.
Brian started a free (subscription optional) Patreon page as Engrane.
Tara performed with her husband Alex in Virginia. She also surpassed 600 performances with Celtic Woman.
If I missed anything significant, let me know!
A Look Ahead
Emma is due to have her baby soon.
The Celtic World Forum will be back in 2025.
Aside from that, 2025 comes with a lot of uncertainty: - There will be no spring tour. There may or may not be something happening in summer / fall. It is expected that there will be a Chrystmas symphony tour next year. - The Brave Collide should have an album out by the middle of the year. - Lisa Lambe may release an album (possibly Nightvisiting) - Motherland (Edel and Ewan) should have an album out by the middle of the year. There will be at least one show in Ireland. Whether or not there will be any shows in the US in 2025 remains to be seen.
There are already a few Chloë, Brave Collide and Lisa Lambe shows scheduled.
I'm optimistic it will be a positively eventful year.
Happy New Year everyone!

We'll know when we know. I find speculating to be unproductive.

The impression I got from the last show in Atlanta is that she wasn't planning to leave at that time. If she is, she hid it pretty well.

An Evening with CT https://tinyurl.com/yc679888The early online episodes of Celtic Thunder: The Home Series were humble and simple, but over time these online gatherings evolved to include deep dives into Irish history and culture and its impact throughout the world—filled with thoughtful insights, beautiful scenery, and the lads’ irresistible humor, always with plenty of hearty and contagious laughs to remind us all that even in a pandemic, life goes on.
Now, Celtic Thunder: The Home Series comes full circle: what began at home on Zoom is making its debut at in-person venues and stages up and down the east coast.
Join the Celtic Thunder Soloist Damian, Emmet, and Neil as they reminisce on what have become some of the most iconic memories from Celtic Thunder: The Home Series. This special evening will include a live viewing of highlights from the last four years of online shows and will be topped off with a Q&A with the audience. VIP ticket holders will also enjoy a pre-show acoustic concert and photo with the singers!

Thanks! I watched a few songs around song #7.
It is a little strange to see Darragh Murphy in another band! I also see Cormac Crummey, who played guitar on the 20th anniversary tour. I didn't see you yet...
Shamrock Tenors is pretty good! I will watch it in full when I have a free afternoon.

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't know MC was in the show. I was even wondering why you posted it in the MC forum.
I will try to find it on my PBS. Is it available for on-demand streaming now?
Sounds like you had fun!
Here's the link to the show on pbs.org / Passport: https://www.pbs.org/show/the-shamrock-tenors-live-from-belfast/You need to log in with your PBS account to view it (you have one if you pledged to a PBS station within the past year). Without logging in, you can only see the preview.

It's been a long wait, but tonight, I finally got to see The Shamrock Tenors: Live from Belfast, recorded August 5, 2022 at Ulster Hall in Belfast.
The stage setup was pretty simple, with a couple of Celtic-themed drapes flanking the organ at the back of the stage. The lighting looked nice.
The Shamrock Tenors have a vibe reminiscent of The High Kings, so if you enjoy their sound, you'll love this too.
Acts like Celtic Woman and Celtic Thunder typically have the lead performers do a few solo numbers each. This show, all 5 leading lads were performing on stage together most of the time. There weren't any featured solos. The harmonies had a nice full sound.
Noteable participants were Mairéad Carlin, who was a guest vocalist in one song, and Darragh Murphy, who performed pipes and whistles throughout the show. Darragh was featured prominently in the arrangements.
I'm sitting in the center section, in the left isle seat of the front row. I'm easy to spot in a bright green t-shirt and an N-95, with a trademark slouch that's only gotten worse in the intervening years. 🤣 It was the start of a 2-week trip featuring a packed sightseeing schedule and 4 Celtic Woman concerts at a time when quarantining was still a thing, so I felt it would have been foolish not to take some precautions. Fortunately, they managed to keep me out of the frame most of the time. I do make an I was quite pleased with their editing work.
Track List:
1. The Wild Rover 2. Black Velvet Band 3. Bodhran Duel 4. Wild Mountain Thyme 5. Mary (original song) 6. Climbing Over the Mountain (might be original, I've never heard it elsewhere). Fun to listen to! 7. Fields of Athenry (featuring Mairéad Carlin) 8. Unity Irish Dance (tap-dance routine) 9. Red Is The Rose (with a bit of Loch Lomond) 10. Belfast 11. Danny Boy 12. Whisky In the Jar 13. Dirty Old Town 14. Ireland's Call 15. The Parting Glass (a cappella)
During Dirty Old Town, a bunch of people in the crowd got up and danced around the aisles. If you look carefully enough, you can see me dancing (badly) with someone during that song. You can't tell who it is from the video alone. This was one of the moments during the show when the lighting on the crowd could have been better, but it's still a cool memory to have.
Ireland's Call was amazing. The crowd shots of us all dancing, clapping, or swaying arm in arm, were fantastic.
This was a fun show and it turned out great! They really captured the buzz in the crowd, especially towards the end of the show.
Additional notes: - There were clips of Irish scenery at times during the perofrmance. - If you're watching on pbs.org: the volume seemed very low to me, relatively speaking. I had to crank the volume up at least 25% higher than usual even after maxing out the volume bar in the video player.
I highly recommend this one!
Aside from the PBS broadcasts / streams, I don't think you can get a physical CD or DVD right now aside from PBS's exorbitant pledge price. I'm not sure if there are any plans for the CD or DVD to be available through regular retail channels later. I haven't decided if I'm going to pledge for one of these bundles, especially with an expensive month of December travels coming up, because they really jacked the price up this time. You should definitely watch the PBS special though.
