« on: September 06, 2023, 02:38:12 PM »
Tara announced today that her and Alex's album Across the Atlantic will be released on September 22nd!! It'll be available on pre-sale on September 15th, with one track available with the pre-sale!

The Instagram announcement is here: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cw2zuE7s1KZ/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Take a look at the album cover photo - seriously can't even cope with how incredibly gorgeous that is! This is going to be amazing!

A Christmas Symphony Tour 2023 / Re: Celtic Woman Symphony Tour 2023
« on: August 30, 2023, 02:07:39 AM »
I've gotten tickets for Costa Mesa now as well - I have Friday night front row and Saturday night front row of one of the balcony tiers. I like seeing one show per tour from the balcony from a different perspective and the Saturday show only had front row way off to the edges, so there's my balcony show for this tour!

A Christmas Symphony Tour 2023 / Re: Celtic Woman Symphony Tour 2023

There's been a lot of talk on here about Minnesota Christmas shows. On Friday night before the filming, we met and talked with the man who handles Celtic Woman's tour bookings. I asked him why no Minnesota Orchestra on the Christmas tours. His response was "no comment". Interesting, and as I have suspected for quite some time, there's some unknown thing going on that has them not perform with the Minnesota Orchestra. Thought you all would be interested in that little tidbit.

He also said that Red Rocks is incredibly difficult to book and it sounds unlikely for there to be a Red Rocks show next year. Darn, we thought that was likely for the 20th Anniversary!

I soooo want to see a Tara/Máiréad N dueling fiddles number!

This is awesome! Gregg & I will be seeing Lisa & Meav perform in person for the first time, plus we only saw Máiréad N with Celtic Woman in our very first show (plus I saw her once solo). The current lineup plus the special guests will all make the dvd filming so epic! Bring on next Friday!

Probably new arrangements of favorite songs for the 20th Anniversary. Hopefully a nice long album with lots of songs!

The ladies have had instagram stories up about how special Brian Byrne's music is. I'm super excited to hear his new arrangements!

Éabha put posts on the Celtic World Forum instagram page yesterday that list the performers for the three nights of concerts!

As soon as I knew the dates for both events, my first thought was no way is this a coincidence. It works out so perfectly that so many Celtic Woman fans can attend both events with one trip to Ireland. I'll certainly be posting about both! Gregg and I fly over one week from today, eeeekkkk!

Gregg just got a response from Celtic Woman that says "e-vites will be getting sent out shortly".

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Album release date.
« on: August 10, 2023, 08:10:44 PM »
I'm thinking that yes it'll be released before the Christmas tour and I'll guess sometime in October. Maybe even September - the Ancient Land album came out just two weeks after the special was filmed (and on my birthday, which was awesome!) The special will for sure be on PBS for their Thanksgiving pledge drives.

56
Gregg also messaged Lloyd and asked about when ticket information will be sent and Lloyd said they're working on it and information is coming.

57
Also still nothing here. My husband emailed them this morning and asked about it. I'll let you all know when we get a response!

I would agree with the way you listed everything as to whether to count it as a show or not.

Thanks for letting us know! We'll be watching for that email.

Today Mairead Carlin posted on her Instagram stories a photo of sheet music with the names of Brian Byrne as the arranger and the writer Oscar Wilde.

I searched for songs inspired by Oscar Wilde's work and found La Mer (a.k.a. Beyond The Sea in the English adaptation) among them. I could be very mistaken since Beyond The Sea of A New Journey does not mention Wilde directly and I found no other evidence of this relationship online.

So, I summon everyone to be a little detective today and try to find a solution to this quest.

PS: Is Brian Byrne the new Musical Director?? Or is it a collab, maybe... He has a pretty solid and successful career as a composer, I am inquisitive to hear his work on this song, at least.

Nice find! I was searching Oscar Wilde after Mairéad posted that story but I haven't found anything. This very well could be it!
