I wonder why they chose to do silhouettes instead of pics or no pics of the ladies.

I wonder why they chose to do silhouettes instead of pics or no pics of the ladies.

I have a few guesses:
- They don't know the lineup yet (probable) and don't want to further confuse fans if the lineup changes.
- They think the lineup might change between now and then (possible)
- They're planning to bring back some guests and rotate the lineups (maybe)
- They want to keep the lineup it a surprise, whether they know the expected lineup(s) or not (maybe)
- It's a placeholder. There will a be a photo with some or all of the expected performers later (definitely).

I wonder  why celebrate the 20th in ‘24 and not ‘25.
The last anniversaries were 10/15 years  from the RELEASE of the original show (‘15, ‘20)/beginning of the tour and not from the taping of the original  show.
Is it possible since the 15 year celebration got halted so quickly they want to celebrate for two years??
Do we think the show they do next year will get recorded and released and then the ‘25 tour will promote that live recording similar to the 2018 homecoming tour??

Everything CWazyTom said!!!
However I have to say they never in their history put a random silhouette w/o it looking like who the member was...

CWX didn't have a silhouette although they advertised Emerald cast and there was a darken Lisa L on Dulaman pose but that wasn't CW doing that!

Since they've announced a new member to replace Megan I wonder if the lineup will be Muirgen/Emma/Hannah/Tara/rotating 5th member?

I can't wait to hear how they'll sound, especially with all 3 ladies being Sopranos again, they may mix it up with who takes lower range on different songs.

Granuaile: Nice find! Important too! Important because we know 2024 is the anniversary tour and not a "normal" spring tour. I guess they did drop hints about it, as a reason they cancelled the 2023 tour.

Does that mean no new music til then or after???

If we do get new music it wouldn't surprise me if we get another Emerald or Voices of Angels type album? either 100% new recordings of old stuff (like Emerald) or one that's largely remakes but with a few new songs sprinkled in (like Voices of Angels). Next year will be 10 years since the Emerald Tour so either one wouldn't surprise me. It wouldn't surprise me if the 2016-18 VOA/Homecoming cycle was repeated: CD only album, tour, record live CD/DVD, release live CD/DVD, Tour again. I know I've said this but I'll say it again I wonder if they want a nice long 20th anniversary tour because the 15th anniversary tour got cut so short.

The new member's voice Emma reminds soooo much of Mairead C! This is the closest we'll get to hearing how Muirgen would sound with Mairead C. It looks like they went the route like ( Celebration 2021)

Hannah - Chloe
Emma - Mairead C
Muirgen- Megan/Eabha
now can take the Eabha spot Megan has had

I and a few others have thought Muirgen would sounded better in Eabhas parts but at the time Megan shined them amazingly with her accented voice of hers.

They've only swapped voices on TAR!

This time around it be so fresh whether it's old songs or new or mix since the entire soloists are new yes Muirgen hasn't been on an album with classic CW songs yet! I'm gearing for a mix old and new like VOA.

It's surprising the '24 spring tour is celebrating the 20th anniversary.
If they recorded something this year (something like Emerald or VoA would be my vote) you'd think they'd rename it to be after that ('24 being 10 years after Emerald) and then '25 be the actual XX tour year.
If I had my way I'd say
*Later this year: Record an album of all remakes or else one like VoA that's largely remakes with a few new ones sprinkled in. Like VoA -- only record as CD.
*Feb-June '24: Tour.
*Sometime in '24 either in Dublin or USA tour: Record live album using tour setlist and call it XX Celebration.
*'25: XX Celebration tour.

One possible reason I am speculating they moved up the anniversary tour a year 'early' is that they want to do a special concert on the real 20th anniversary in Ireland. They can keep the same setlist if that happens on the tail end of the anniversary tour.

We can only hope! They kept saying they will do something "special". That would be special. And if any former members come back for a one off, they HAVE to record that!

But back to reality...

I sent an email to my PBS station asking about tickets.

A couple years ago, the question was do I want the M&G or "good" seats?  Good seats being defined as 1st or 2nd row.  My local venue only let PBS have seats starting in row 12.

Good idea. I'll probably do the same things, as opposed to waiting for the pledge drive, etc.

I noticed the tour is FL heavy, although FL is a big state. (I guess that's good for you @dbbii - right?) And a lot of shows in the South. That's all good. I guess I just never noticed.

You are correct -- there are usually multiple shows in Florida.  Florida has multiple "major" cities.  Over the years, I've seen shows in Tampa, Clearwater, St Petersburg, Lakeland, Fort Myers, West Palm Beach, Melbourne and Daytona Beach.  Yes, some require an overnight stay, but they are within driving distance (about 4 hours max).

I'll go to the show in St Petersburg this year.  Not sure if I will go to any others.  A number of years ago, I was kinda burned out on CW. This was when they were doing TAR, starting in the audience.  Lisa Lambe ended up sitting next to me.  I went home and bought tickets for another 4 or 5 shows.  Part of that was, of course, I had had the opportunity to meet all the girls multiple times and they recognized me.  Not so much any more.

The only show I have tickets for is Chloe's show in Milw for christmas. Let me know what you all think of the prices of the shows this year. I will look into PBS seats.

I just had this conversation at home. The face value on tickets I looked at are significantly more than what I paid for PBS tickets (w/ M&G!!!) for Postcards!

Not only is inflation to blame. It's dynamic pricing. I was wondering out loud in the Christmas thread why the seats keep getting more and more expensive. I didn't know about how normalized dynamic pricing is. So the longer you wait, the more seats are gone, the higher the price.

I'm afraid to see what the PBS prices will be.
Title: Re: Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour

I decided to go to the Atlanta Christmas show.  I paid $700 for 2 pit seats with a M&G and a pre-show reception.  Then there's a hotel room plus gas to get there so this is probably a $1500 trip.  Since I only went to 3 shows this year, I was kind of under what I had spent in the past for shows.

My PBS station said they were doing a M&G for the local show, but no info until their December pledge drive.  Chances are it will be in the $350 to $400 range for a pair of tickets.  Will I pay it?  Probably.   Will that be the only show I go to next year? Probably unless I'm blown away by the show.

All shows are getting expensive.  Look at what happened with Taylor Swift.  My daughter wanted to go, but figured out that using her whole paycheck wasn't the smartest idea in the world.

I just spent $250 for a pair of tickets to go see Come From Away locally.  I've seen it before.  It's one of the top 2 or 3 Broadway type shows I've seen.

PBS show times for the TV special are starting to show up. Most (if not all) PBS stations have a searchable schedule on their website.

My PBS station has a few TV times the last week of Nov. Not a lot. Kind of disappointing, but maybe they'll add more later.

I assume ticket sales start then? Or earlier? I noticed Postcards is on TV this weekend here, but that wouldn't make sense to sell 20th anniversary tickets during Postcards?

I don't know if you saw my posts in the Calendar section. My PBS station told me about a date that is not on the CW website or the venue website.

So all that to say...they are still adding more dates to the tour, in general. If you look at the current tour schedule, there are a few holes in the schedule. So those might be filled soon, like before the PBS pledge drives.

There's definitely gaps to fill in on the schedule, which we'll probably find out fairly soon. I'm particularly interested in April 16th - no show listed for that date yet and in between two Wisconsin shows. Very likely that's a Minnesota show!

Wow! PBS prices are all over the map. That is the highest I've seen. In comparison, look at the link Tracie just posted yesterday. That's $300 for a pair of tickets I think.

Update. I stand corrected. Look at Tom's post for Detroit. $1200 for a pair! Shock and awe! :o

Yeah, meet and greet prices are all over the place and since I frequently travel for shows, that price is a factor in where I choose to go. The highest I've ever done for meet and greet is $485/pair. I was a bit hesitant on going that high, but am glad I did because that turned out to be Èabha's final show.

I did a $750 split once. I think that was the Fox Theatre Atlanta show just before the shutdown. Detroit used to be $500 for a pair.

What would make the M&G more overpriced is if they go back to meeting only 2 of the ladies. For those prices I'm kind of expecting to meet all 4.

For $1200, you should get to have coffee with them! :P

As has been mentioned before, the M&G's have changed over the years.  It used to be you got 2 girls.  Random as to who it was.  They sat behind a table and signed just about anything you gave them.  I have a couple of photographs and a T-shirt signed by all 4 girls at that time.  That was hard (and expensive) to do!

Then, the M&G moved to before the show,  It's been this way since, I think the 2013 Believe tour.  That's when they changed to before the show and it became a photo op with all 4.

Definitely $1200 is something where you should get two show tickets, a copy or two of the CD, private meal or
Something  with all the ladies.

Merch has never done where they give the ladies a stack of CDs or programs or something to sign then having the option to purchase a signed CD when purchasing a CD at the merch table have they????
Several years ago when I saw Kristin Chenoweth she got a stack of 5 copies of her then latest CD and signed them and I got one.

There's definitely gaps to fill in on the schedule, which we'll probably find out fairly soon. I'm particularly interested in April 16th - no show listed for that date yet and in between two Wisconsin shows. Very likely that's a Minnesota show!

Called it! April 16th at State Theatre Minneapolis just added to CW website!

I was looking for this post for a while. That's helpful.

Wow, the tour starts next week! Anyone have M&G early in the tour, like Feb or Mar? Please post your report when you can. We have a M&G but it's not til the end of May.

Here's my very ambitious list for this spring tour. Some of these locations were selected because we also have friends there to visit, and others were selected because they are in close driving range of each other and allow for multiple shows with one flight. I wonder if anybody else out there is going to this many shows on this particular tour or if I have the most? As far as I'm aware, I had the most on the 2023 Christmas tour at 7. I'm really excited to make the 20th Anniversary be my personal record for most shows on one tour - I must have my record be on a tour that Mairéad is in 😍

February 29th - Sarasota, FL
March 1st - Fort Lauderdale, FL w/m&g
March 2nd - St. Petersburg, FL
March 5th - Fort Myers, FL
April 10th - Lima, OH
April 11th - Wabash, IN
April 12th - Shipshewana, IN
April 13th - Shipshewana, IN
April 16th - Minneapolis, MN
May 5th - Tucson, AZ
May 7th - Phoenix, AZ
May 9th - San Diego, CA (this one might get axed in favor of going to Disneyland)
May 10th - Long Beach, CA
May 21st - Las Vegas, NV
May 25th - Colorado Springs, CO w/m&g
May 26th - Denver, CO w/m&g

The most shows I ever did in one year was 13.  Interesting that that was the year I was kinda burned out and said I wasn't going to travel very much.  Went to what I think (without looking it up) was the first show of the tour.  This was where the girls came out in the audience for the start of TAR.  I was on the end of the 2nd row.  Lisa L was on my side.  She sat in an empty seat next to me!  That's when I fell in love all over again!

I figured out that I have been to 36 different cities for shows; 84 total.  Then, there's another bunch where I went to see Chloe after she went out on her own, plus a couple shows Lisa Kelly did as well.

Wow! You guys are amazing!

Just curious. If you get a pre-show M&G, do you still try the stage door post-show?

Going back to the "old" M&G, the girls would sign things for you.  I have signed tickets, a Mairead Fiddler Crossing sign, and a bunch of photos.  The most interesting is a t-shirt from 2009.  They did 2 shows at RCMC.  I went to both and got 4 signatures.  It was luck that I got another M&G later in the year and got whoever was the missing girl!

Another interesting story was after Chloe was out on her own.  Saw her at an Irish bar in Jacksonville, FL.  (Note -- that's where I discovered I like Irish whisky).  I had gone to a number of CW shows with my daughter and Chloe had met her and asked about her at other shows.  My daughter was graduating from college about a week after Chloe's concert.  I took a card and asked Chloe if she would sign it for my daughter.  Not only did she write a very nice note in it, she gave me a T-shirt and her CD for my daughter!

- One ad says "M&G with two of the ladies".
- One ad says "Meet and take photos with a few members".

So a package showed up today from the Fort Myers, FL PBS station.  Key paragraph:

This meet and greet will be a signature and photo op experience, we want to provide you with the best experience possible however we are at the mercy of and must adhere to each venue's specific requirements and constraints in terms of space backstage and the time allotted.

My 2nd M&G was in Fort Myers back in 2009.  It was after the show.  They had it in a room somewhere backstage.  Even had coffee and cookies while waiting for the girls -- in this case Chloe & Mairead.  My daughter was with me. She was 16 at the time.  She was very shy.  Chloe did an absolutely wonderful job of putting her at ease!  Over the years, we met Chloe a lot.  She always remembered us.  Several times when I was by myself, she even asked about my daughter.

Did another M&G in 2013.  Same venue.  The photo op was in a stairwell!!

Oh that's helpful. I guess that's all you can ask for.

I thought Postcards M&G was not rushed, they signed whatever I had with me, handed out the signed poster, and a photo op with all 4 (although they are wearing masks). That's about as good as it gets. I was wondering if it was 'improved' because it was the first M&G after the pandemic. So I'm extra curious how it will be this year.

Have some M&G locations depended on the type of venue that the show is in??? For example I did a M&G in 2017. I attended the show at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester MN. Mayo Civic Center is a multiroom building and had just completed renovations. Part of the renovation meant some moving of the box offices (there are more than 1). There are three performing spaces. A large auditorium where our local Eagles club has a 20 hour telethon every January which I try to attend often and have also attended The Price is Right Live, Anne Murray, Four Tonic Sol Fa concerts, Under the Streetlamp, Beatles vs. Stones among others, a smaller theater type room called the Presentation Hall where I've seen local ballets and also a lot of lower key musical acts such as Judy Collins, Peter Yarrow, a tribute to John Denver, Art Garfunkel, Home Free, Tonic Sol Fa, Oak Ridge Boys, Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt to name a few (often the type of room someone might choose if they come with either a small band, minimal production or no band at all) and an arena which is where Celtic Woman has come three times (I attended the latter two shows that came and have also seen Steve Martin & Martin Short, Sesame Street Live, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, A Prairie Home Companion, a screening with Ken Burns and Jim Gaffigan among other things). On Meet & Greet Day the way it worked was got the passes from one of the box offices, came back after a while, escorted into one of the newer built rooms off to the side, venue staff went and got the ladies and they lined up: this show it went Eabha, Tara, Susan and Mairead. The way I did it was went one by one, shaking hands and saying hello before taking a picture.
Do they always do front row seats???

Obviously COVID changed everything.

Going back maybe 10 years ago, I was at a M&G in Tampa, FL.  Had a post-show reception sponsored by the PBS station.  Wine!!!  Chloe and Mairead were sitting behind a table signing things.  I was one of the last ones in line (hey, wine!).  When I got to the table, Chloe recognized me, got up and walked around the table to give me a hug.  PBS lady running the M&G about had a heart attack.  Then, Mairead did the same thing.

Yes, these are at two different venues. I would think the M&G should be the same. From here on CWF, it sounds like it has been all 4 ladies at the M&G lately. I'm assuming it'll be all 4, but my PBS stations don't want to guarantee it for some reason. IDK ???

What I've seen over the years, is when CW was intially starting out, they did a lot with PBS.  Today, not so much for a lot of reasons.

It used to be when you got a M&G, you got front row tickets.  A couple years ago (pre-COVID), my PBS tickets were in something like Row 12.  And that was with a M&G.  If I wanted "front" tickets, these were only being sold by the venue to their supporters.  In other words, if you bought a season ticket to their, for example, Broadway Series, you could buy good tickets for other shows.

Some of this is probably due to the venue.  The management of a lot of venues has been outsourced to private companies, even though the venue is owned by the government.  It's about money.  On some level, I get that.  I may not like it, but ...

Back in December, I was at Lisa Kelly's Masterclass.  One question that was asked of her is "are you going to do another show?"  She said she would like to, but there are a lot of issues with trying to deal with the local amphitheatre.  Again, it was apparently built as a community facility.  Now, it's really not.

Last Friday I had a PBS meet & greet in Fort Lauderdale. They brought us into a room that had lots of tables and food, so people were asking if the food was for us but it was just where the cast and crew had eaten earlier. All four of the ladies were there. It was pretty much the same as meet and greets that we had pre-covid. The ladies stood in a corner and everyone lined up to say hello and take a photo. Gregg & I kept letting people go in front of us so we could be last. Their tour manager has seen us plenty of times and he lets us have plenty of time with the ladies. We each got to chat with all four of them and we weren't rushed. The corner they were in was kind of dark, but the photos still turned out nicely. It was before the show and they were in their first act dresses. We had a great time!

Sounds great, esp. that you weren't rushed. Is there time to get a CD signed? You see them so much, your probably don't think about autographs any more.  ;)

Thanks for the info!!!

We don't ask for autographs very often anymore. Our personal preference is to have photos and to use that time to just talk to them. But someone else in the meet and greet asked them to sign something and they did do that.

I agree with you.  The problem I've ran into is that they set the M&G so close to show time, they only allow maybe a minute per photo.  You can say HI, but that's about it.  Someone from the tour is always pushing you thru.

I went to the Christmas show in Atlanta.  The PBS station had multiple levels of donations.  They had a pre-show gathering (about 2 hours if I remember correctly).  Buffet.  Open bar!!  Then, they came and got those of us who had the M&G.  About 20 or so.  There were about 75 total at the pre-show event.

Most of the people there for the Fort Lauderdale meet and greet only got a minute or so, but Gregg and I specifically got a good deal more time than that. And that's because their tour manager knows us and knows that we have special connections with the ladies. He's very kind to us in the meet and greets and very generous in how much time he allows us to have. And of course the ladies love seeing us and talking to us. It's something we've built from scratch over the past 8 years.

The first few Meet and Greets I did, I tried memorizing things to say to each of the ladies. It was only a couple of sentences each, but it did take a bit of time to deliver them. I got the "hurry-it-along" treatment all but once (Éabha's last show).

The last time I pursued that strategy though was the Magic of Christmas tour. These days, in the rare event I have something emotionally meaningful to relay to the girls that benefits from careful wording, I just message them. It's a lot easier and less stressful than rolling the dice on the available time at a Meet and Greet.

I'm not too adept at purchasing concert tickets but I went the pbs route for Memphis. The email (and letter) said its 2 tickets and meet and greet. The way its worded leads me to believe that only 1 of us can do the M&G. Can anyone help clarify what exactly I purchased? Delete if I'm not allowed to post the attachment. Thank you in advance.
