CW Musicians and Choir / Re: Guiding Light (Ronan)

I pre-ordered the Guiding Light EP today and received an instant download of the title track. The song is a Ronan and Mairéad duet and it is so very beautiful. I listened to it at least 10 times today! Love it so much!

The pre-order link is here: https://www.ronanscolard.com/store

Welcome Michael! It's always a pleasure to have new Celtic Woman fans here!

I'd suggest calling that PBS station and asking them to clarify because it's not very clear with the way they have it worded.

Most of the people there for the Fort Lauderdale meet and greet only got a minute or so, but Gregg and I specifically got a good deal more time than that. And that's because their tour manager knows us and knows that we have special connections with the ladies. He's very kind to us in the meet and greets and very generous in how much time he allows us to have. And of course the ladies love seeing us and talking to us. It's something we've built from scratch over the past 8 years.

We don't ask for autographs very often anymore. Our personal preference is to have photos and to use that time to just talk to them. But someone else in the meet and greet asked them to sign something and they did do that.

Beautiful! Love them!

Last Friday I had a PBS meet & greet in Fort Lauderdale. They brought us into a room that had lots of tables and food, so people were asking if the food was for us but it was just where the cast and crew had eaten earlier. All four of the ladies were there. It was pretty much the same as meet and greets that we had pre-covid. The ladies stood in a corner and everyone lined up to say hello and take a photo. Gregg & I kept letting people go in front of us so we could be last. Their tour manager has seen us plenty of times and he lets us have plenty of time with the ladies. We each got to chat with all four of them and we weren't rushed. The corner they were in was kind of dark, but the photos still turned out nicely. It was before the show and they were in their first act dresses. We had a great time!

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: How many on here???
« on: February 16, 2024, 02:22:17 PM »
I went to 5 shows on the Celebration tour before it got shut down (so glad we took that trip to Florida!), but I had tickets for more. I don't remember exactly how many more, maybe another 5 for spring plus 3 for Ireland? So we did have tickets carry over from 2020 all the way to 2022. We went to 14 shows on the Postcards tour partly because we missed live music so much, partly because we had all these tickets carry over, partly because we were already such huge fans of Tara and Megan and had personal connections with them. While we were doing it though I kept asking myself why I was seeing that tour more times than I saw Ancient Land because I missed Mairéad so much and I didn't like the music of Postcards as much as I loved everything from the Gavin Murphy years. So that's why I want to beat my own tour record and make my highest show count be on a tour that Mairéad is in and a tour where I love the music from Brian Byrne as much as I loved Gavin's. 13 days left to my 1st show of this tour, let's goooooo!

The most shows I ever did in one year was 13.  Interesting that that was the year I was kinda burned out and said I wasn't going to travel very much.  Went to what I think (without looking it up) was the first show of the tour.  This was where the girls came out in the audience for the start of TAR.  I was on the end of the 2nd row.  Lisa L was on my side.  She sat in an empty seat next to me!  That's when I fell in love all over again!

I figured out that I have been to 36 different cities for shows; 84 total.  Then, there's another bunch where I went to see Chloe after she went out on her own, plus a couple shows Lisa Kelly did as well.

Such fun experiences and memories to have!

Wow! You guys are amazing!

Just curious. If you get a pre-show M&G, do you still try the stage door post-show?

Absolutely yes! We want to talk to them as much as we possibly can!

Here's my very ambitious list for this spring tour. Some of these locations were selected because we also have friends there to visit, and others were selected because they are in close driving range of each other and allow for multiple shows with one flight. I wonder if anybody else out there is going to this many shows on this particular tour or if I have the most? As far as I'm aware, I had the most on the 2023 Christmas tour at 7. I'm really excited to make the 20th Anniversary be my personal record for most shows on one tour - I must have my record be on a tour that Mairéad is in 😍

February 29th - Sarasota, FL
March 1st - Fort Lauderdale, FL w/m&g
March 2nd - St. Petersburg, FL
March 5th - Fort Myers, FL
April 10th - Lima, OH
April 11th - Wabash, IN
April 12th - Shipshewana, IN
April 13th - Shipshewana, IN
April 16th - Minneapolis, MN
May 5th - Tucson, AZ
May 7th - Phoenix, AZ
May 9th - San Diego, CA (this one might get axed in favor of going to Disneyland)
May 10th - Long Beach, CA
May 21st - Las Vegas, NV
May 25th - Colorado Springs, CO w/m&g
May 26th - Denver, CO w/m&g

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Fall tour.
« on: February 04, 2024, 04:12:48 PM »
Gregg & I have definitely put a lot of money into this, but we love it with all our hearts and it's worth every penny! We both have good jobs that we are paid very well for and we don't have kids, so no childcare expenses. We are world travelers and the vast majority of the time we plan our travels based on the concerts we want to attend. The biggest hindrance for us is the number of vacation days we have, of which I am currently loaded but Gregg's is more limited. We love everything we're able to do and we have such a blast!

Yes, I am going in the spring! Gregg & I are starting off in Florida one week after opening night. I have big plans for the 20th Anniversary tour and currently have tickets for 16 shows. As of now, the Postcards From Ireland tour has my highest show count of a single tour at 14. I want to make my highest show count be on a tour that Mairéad is in, so I'm going all out on this tour! If the 20th Anniversary tour continues in the fall as I'm suspecting, then I'll likely drop a few spring shows to save the vacation time and travel funds and pick up some in the fall. I am counting attending the filming as one show, so I need at least 14 more to meet my goal. I'm really excited for this tour and I love the album, DVD, and this current group of four so much that I know I'm going to enjoy these shows immensely! Our hometown Minneapolis show is always one we very much look forward to because the Minneapolis crowds are the absolute bomb, as I know you've experienced as well! Hope you do come to the show!

Since this is the 20th Anniversary tour, I do think there will be a tour somewhere this fall, but I have no clue where. I personally am hoping for a Europe or UK tour because I want to travel overseas to attend! Hoping to find out soon so I can start planning.
