Celtic Woman / Re: The "mixing on the albums needs to be better" thread.« on: September 24, 2023, 05:05:20 PM »
Postcards from Ireland. I won’t listen to that one for that reason. The orchestra drowns out the voices and you can barely hear Tara either.

Other Musicians / Re: Celtic Thunder Tour rescheduled to spring 2022« on: September 13, 2023, 04:12:17 PM »
Ryan Kelly is temporarily leaving Celtic Thunder due to health reasons. Ronan Scolard (Mairead C’s husband) will be replacing him.

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Special Guests for 20th Anniversary DVD Recording« on: August 18, 2023, 02:54:02 PM »
I don’t really think they’d do the tour, not because they wouldn’t like to, but because they all have other schedules. Mairead is putting her Celtic Spells show together. Chloe is recording and touring with her duo Brave Collide. Maybe Meav? But she does have kids so…

Hannah Traynor / Re: Goodbye Hannah.« on: August 13, 2023, 07:07:51 AM »
I follow her and the other CW members on Instagram (the ones who are on Instagram, that is). She hasn’t posted anything about her departure. But she did unfollow the CW account, although she still follows the girls she toured with. If she was planning to be with CW longer, she may not have a future project yet. But with a voice like that, I’m sure she will.

Eabha McMahon / Re: There's going to be a few familiar faces at Eabha's Celtic World Forum!« on: August 12, 2023, 12:16:33 PM »As soon as I knew the dates for both events, my first thought was no way is this a coincidence. It works out so perfectly that so many Celtic Woman fans can attend both events with one trip to Ireland. I'll certainly be posting about both! Gregg and I fly over one week from today, eeeekkkk! I don’t think it’s a coincidence, I think Eabha is a very good business person. She likely knew when a bunch of CW performers and fans will be in the area and scheduled so they’d be able to attend. I do have a suspicion that Eabha won’t be in the 20th anniversary show, especially as she’s probably very busy putting the forum together for the next week. If I had to make an educated guess, I think CW only invited the first five as guests. 7
Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: What Songs Will They Perform At The Helix?« on: July 14, 2023, 05:12:39 PM »
If they don't have every soloist, guest or otherwise, sing You Raise Me Up together at the end, then they'll have wasted an opportunity! I don't think Mairead C is a special guest. I think she's doing it as a current member, since she's doing the Christmas tour.

I miss The Sky and the Dawn and the Sun, Spanish Lady, At the Ceili, and the David Downes arrangement of Mo Ghile Mear. But who knows if they’re allowed to use those? Maybe they are, since they used his arrangements for Christmas.

Probably You Raise Me Up, Danny Boy, Amazing Grace, The Parting Glass, Orinoco Flow, and Teir Abhaile Riu. I'd most likely expect someone to sing Dulaman.

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: New Announcement from Celtic Woman« on: July 06, 2023, 10:54:49 PM »Maybe Hannah didn’t want to stay for real long. She did fill in for Susan as Susan didn’t go on the Christmas tour, likely to stay home with her children. I sincerely hope that's the case because the alternative is not good at all. But, considering that there are non-Christmas pictures of Hannah with the girls for the 2023 calendar, and the fact that she was active with them on social media up until last month, I don't think she was ever supposed to be a "fill in." Although I do get the impression CW wants us to think that now. She was basically a footnote in their announcement. The fact that Hannah herself has not put out a statement, like Mairead C, Eabha, and Megan all did when they left, doesn't look good to me either. And if she were only meant to be there for the Christmas tour, why did CW and Hannah still act like she was a member for the next six months? I hope she left because she wanted to and not because they decided that bringing Mairead back was a better option. Financially, maybe it was. Mairead was there for eight years and multiple specials and definitely has many more fans. But no new member ever has as many fans at first as the ones who came before them, so that's kind of an unfair comparison. This is not to take anything away from Mairead. She's a wonderful singer and was incredible in Celtic Woman. But it's the 20th anniversary. They could alternate older and newer members for the next two years and people would be happy. They did it for the 10th anniversary, and people liked being able to see the different lineups. Going back to four vocalists would be a welcome option, as well. 11
Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: New Announcement from Celtic Woman« on: July 06, 2023, 01:27:46 PM »
I like Mairead, but I don't like this at all. They're acting like Hannah was a stand-in. She wasn't. Her pictures are on the 2023 calendar, and she was doing quickfire Q&A's with them as recently as June. She did the Instagram introduction video for their new music video release, which she wasn't even in. She liked the post announcing Emma as a new member, so she clearly thought they would be performing together. She has NOT liked the post announcing Mairead's return and thanking her for "stepping in." I don't know what happened, and I don't know what they told her, but they used her, and I hope she doesn't let it affect her or her career because her voice is amazing.

Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Tribute Video« on: July 04, 2023, 11:49:48 PM »I wonder if adding it to a playlist on the Forum YouTube channel would be a good compromise. That sounds like a good idea to me if you guys want to do that! 13
Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour / Re: Tribute Video« on: July 04, 2023, 10:16:30 PM »In honor of the upcoming 20th anniversary, I made a video featuring all eighteen past and present members! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfTwnlLiUz4 I'm truly flattered, but I would prefer to keep it only on my channel, at least right now. Thank you very much for asking, though! I appreciate that you liked my work! 14

Glad you liked the video!! It was so much fun to do! I also love Deirdre's She Moved Thru the Fair. Definitely my favorite version out of everyone who's done it in the show.
Granuaile's Dance might be my favorite solo of Mairead's, and Tara has said how much she loves For the Love of a Princess. The video for You'll Be in My Heart was breaking up on me, so I picked True Colors for Alex. I was torn between the two. And no one does Dulaman like Meav! |
