Celtic Woman let us know that Susan is fine. She had to fly home to Ireland to attend the funeral of her Aunty Joanie.

Deepest condolences to Susan and her family.

My sympathies to Susan and her family. It's so wonderful of Alex to step in for the time being. Crossing my fingers for some videos of Alex performing!

I've gotta admit, I've been doing some flight searches to the locations of the next few shows to see if it would be at all possible to go see Alex. The flights are way too expensive unfortunately

Im surprised that they didn't put a mike on Tara and let her fill in for Susan. Im sure Tara would have said yes if asked. They must have really done some fast airline hunts to get Alex over here so fast much less how Alex just dropped everything on such short notice

With the amount of work that's required to keep one's voice in the kind of shape needed for Celtic Woman, I think asking Tara to sing would be putting too much on her plate.

Also, Tara's sings in a higher range than Susan or Alex. The harmony might be designed for a mid-range voice between Mairead and Eabha.

They've brought Alex in a bunch of times before (to fill in for Lisa, then Orla, then later for Lisa Lambe). She's like a super-sub!

Susan McFadden returns to the Homecoming tour today!

Last night was Alex's last show filling in for Susan. Alex's brief stint during the Homecoming tour was March 11 - 23, 2018. I'll update the Celtic Woman timeline.

It would have been nice to see Alex on tour with Celtic Woman for once, but I wasn't in one of those lucky audiences.

Alex is a quick study. She learned her part on short notice and apparently fit in very well with the rest of the girls, some of which she hadn't performed with before. She also learned the dance routine with Carl within an hour or two.

Alex's stage presence was reportedly as great as ever. One day, I hope I get to experience her immense talent in person.

Let's all send our thanks to the amazing Alex Sharpe for all her great work filling in for Sue!

I'm really looking forward to seeing Sue live again in a few weeks!

P.S. Yes, Alex got to use Sue's bus bunk:

Aww. The girls decorated Susan's bunk to welcome her back to the tour:
